First time here; met co-workers but spent the first hr alone, people watching. Spacious bar with a bunch activities to get into with friends. We went on Th – line dancing night. I noticed a lot of people knew each other, “regulars”. Good vibe with them all. The Ave fries and The Ave pizza was real good. Actually, The pizza was amazing! My only complain, bar services lagged. They can definitely improve – seem they knew the regs and spent A Lot of time chatting with them while others waited to be served.

Stopped in randomly because I haven’t been to the place in years. Nice mix of people. They had 2 pool tables both of which were occupied. Figured we would wait and see if one opened. A group of 3 guys walked in and looked over at the table before even getting a drink. I asked the bartender if we could get the tables next. She said the guys reserved it so they had it next. Alright…didn’t know by walking in you automatically have a table reserved. They were clearly regulars. She told us the second table should be up because they had been there for hours. So we ordered another drink to wait it out. Second table finishes and we’re told somebody else was in line in front of us. Absolutely makes no scene because we were there before both of these groups. We waited 2 hours for a table and we were totally disregarded.
We sat at the bar the whole time. The bartenders were drinking on the job openly. No sense of urgency and quit frankly had a trashy appearance. We order drinks and she messed them both up. It’s 7o’clock on a Sat night and your bartenders are already intoxicated. Red flag. If you’re not a regular they’re not welcoming and it’s not worth the visit. We like the atmosphere and would have returned but after that I’d never spend money at a place like this.

We hosted a party at the Ave this past weekend and everything was wonderful! The staff were kind, accommodating, and extremely attentive. The food was delicious. Definitely recommend the place to others and will be going back as well!

Got invited to the line dancing on Thursday nights having zero idea how to line dance. Took a few weeks to pick up some songs but the regulars jumped right in to help and teach me, and the two that host the event are awesome. Fast forward a few months and these are lifelong friends. Never thought I’d randomly add such great people to my life in such a short time. Thursday nights are part of my weekly schedule.

Note: Line dancing is not beginner friendly!! I have been here several times over the last couple of years. Large, airy room in front with table top games. Good place to bring the family for some fun. The bar is big and the area is a little more dimly lit, which is nice. Pool tables and, I think they have darts. Good size dance floor. I do wish they wouldn’t advertise “beginner” line dancing on Thursdays. It certainly wasn’t for newbies! The regular crowd all seemed to know each other and were not receptive to newcomers. One woman told me to get off the dance floor because I didn’t know the dance and I was in the way (her exact words). Extremely rude! A seasoned dancer would have made room and even helped. Will never go back on a Thursday but open to trying some of the other fun events.

I came here on a whim one night and loved the line dancing vibe- hopped on the edge of the floor and immediately had people helping me learn! I came back a few months later and the people I had met prior immediately remembered me, took me in teaching me dances, and even came and got me on the floor for dances they thought I could easily learn. Been coming for over a year now and it’s one of my favorite places!! Everyone from the staff to Bryan and Beth who run the line dancing have been incredible.

The food was okay. (Average tasting / quality , and pricey for pub style food) Drink tasted a little funny and “off”. Vibes were good as it’s a large bar with pool tables and jenga. It’s very large and spacious on the inside which looks deceiving when you drive by it. They had karaoke too and it looks like different fun things happening each day. Overall it’s a nice large hangout spot for some drinks and the local Johnston watering hole. If we go back, we’d probably just split a different app, or get a canned/bottled drink instead.

We chose, The hangover cure burger and The Caprese arugula flatbread. If your not a fan of mayo don’t worry to much about the maple mayo on the The hangover cure you won’t even notice, taste like a bomb breakfast sandwich “1 you wouldn’t mind being late to work for” and for the caprese flatbread you honestly can not go wrong, definitely a go to, fresh mozzarella to the right amount of balsamic dressing to the softness of the bread and the crunch on the crust.
