We got the $55 dinner date. You get an appetizer, 2 mains, and a dessert, which is a great deal. The Chicken Marsala was nice, but it took a while to come out. Not all the food came out at the same time so our friends almost finished the food before ours came out.
-difficult to find as the sign is small on wall, not like other restaurants on same street that are well lid/bigger.
-waiter was excellent, very cheerful and apologized for a Gumbo that WAS NOT, to be honest-a disaster which was served with a fork. I’ve eaten real gumbo from the hands that knows how to cook it. Not only was cold, a meager watery portion with hard grain of rice that tasted as it was from the day prior or someone elses un-eaten portion. The pieces of chicken were from the pieces close to bones which were hard to touch. I could not even stomach putting that terrible concoction in my mouth. The person cooking it had no pride on cookin, neither on presentation. On top of it it was not pocket change the price per plate we paid on 4 = $225+ tip. The young man deserved it, not the rest.
Since I could not eat the gumbo I leaned to taste my hubby rissoto with salmón. Again, cook does not know how to cook grains. It was hard two on table liked the salmón. The other person was able to eat the meatloaf which was gigantic meatball ~overall was eatable but, not the best. Since mgr said I should eat it as it was “good” per her recommendations= I tried a piece of the person on table and decided it was not great. Dessert, I loved Crème Brûlèe- another disaster- it was watery, not even close to the texture it must have, a final disappointment. The one thing that I enjoyed was the sliders, hummus, cheeses on the tower of appetizers. I will not return, it was overpriced and not good. I don’t mind paying if is great. This business must do a soul searching of where you want to go. Is not just about making money, how about getting return clients?
This same night I met a friend of a friend that said “I wished I knew you before to tell you not to go, my daughter had a bad experience”
We both ordered specials—meatloaf and salmon—and they were absolutely delicious. A solid 10/10 for both dishes! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a night out. Highly recommend, and we’re already looking forward to coming back!
We had a guest with a dairy allergy and our server Sahara was incredibly patient, hospitable and kind, with the many, many requests from our guest. She deserves a medal!
Highly recommend for a date night or family dinner.
We shared a charcuterie board. Tacos and deviled eggs. All was delish!
I would love to come back and try more of their food.
