The music was bumping, DJ even played a song I requested and tried to refuse my tip but I insisted. We ordered some appetizers and having worked in restaurants I was skeptical of what the quality might be given their absence of guests. But everything was good, hot and fresh! The taquitos were actually really good, not over seasoned and the chicken tasted like rotisserie quality. The salsa and bean dip had good flavor, tortilla chips weren’t too salty. The quesadilla was nice and hot, if not a little plain but it’s a quesadilla. I originally wanted to come here after realizing it was an old asylum. The empty dance floor did not stop me from having a good time, it actually was a better experience than other bars or clubs I’ve been to where the music sucks and dance floor is packed. It was just me and me out there having a blast.
My brother and husband had a bit of a supernatural experience when they heard something hit the floor behind them while they were sitting at the bar. It was a 1996 dime and neither of them had change on them and hadn’t even moved when the dime fell directly behind them. You be the judge of that one, I’m a believer personally!
Two other groups came in after us but didn’t dance. All in all we had a great time and plan to return again! I don’t know where everyone else is hanging out on a Saturday night but this is a real hole in the wall for me and feel free to check it out, or not because being the only ones there was oddly satisfying…
