In LA for a 4 nights for business. Really wanted a steak on the last night and Arthur J didn’t disappoint!
The bar area was very loud but the dining area was not too bad.
Food: The bone marrow was ok, a bit too salty. The steak was just fantastic! Juicy and tasty! And Nicki, my host was great! Very helpful!
Parking was somewhat difficult to find. We parked at a meter and paid a few dollars for two hours.
We had a reservation and were seated immediately.
We ordered the A5 Wagyu and the Steak Sampler. Per the suggestion of our waiter, we ordered the Wagyu with “Medium” doneness. It was exceptional. Probably the best steak we’ve ever had. We wish we would’ve ordered more but the price kept us away. As for the Steak Sampler, it was fun to try different cuts of meat. Our NY Strip was overcooked but he rest of the food was so good that we didn’t want to send it back.
We also ordered Mashed Potatoes as a side, knowing that we didn’t order a lot of steak. The Potatoes were okay and not the amount we expected for the price. They do pair well with steak, though, and it was fun to mix in the steak sauces. The Vietnamese Caramel was our favorite sauce. It was recommended by our waiter and wasn’t something we would be selected on our own, so kudos to him.
We received free Chocolate Cake and free Champagne for celebrating our dating anniversary there. The champagne wasn’t anything special but the Chocolate Cake was good.
If we went back, we’d for sure order the A5 Wagyu again but maybe try other offerings for the rest of the meal.
The menu is a tantalizing showcase of expertly crafted dishes that, in my opinion, highlight the finest ingredients. I skipped the appetizer course and went straight for the dry-aged steak, cooked to perfection and bursting with rich, savory flavors. Each bite melted in my mouth, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to high-quality cuts and expert preparation.
The sides were equally impressive; the truffle mac and cheese was indulgent and creamy, while the seasonal vegetables offered a refreshing balance to my meal. The wine selection was extensive and thoughtfully curated, with knowledgeable staff on hand to recommend the perfect pairing.
What truly set Arthur J apart, though, was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, making sure we had everything we needed while also sharing insights into the menu. Their passion for food and hospitality was evident and added a personal touch to the experience.
To top it all off, the dessert was a masterpiece – the ideal ending to a perfect meal – leaving a lasting impression of sweetness.
In conclusion, Arthur J in Los Angeles is a must-visit for anyone seeking a remarkable dining experience. Whether you’re a steak aficionado or simply looking for an outstanding meal, this restaurant delivers on every front!
Service was excellent and we never felt rushed.
If I had to nit pick- I would have loved a classic salad choice.
