Absolutely love it here. The cocktails are amazing. We tried 5 different ones and they were all excellent! The food was also very very good. And best of all, the hospitality was above and beyond. We had to wait a little for our food (the kitchen was behind) and we barely noticed but they apologized to us and comped all our food! I told them it wasn’t necessary but they insisted. The hospitality at the restaurant upstairs is also incredible. 100/10

Excellent newer cocktail spot. Great atmosphere, even better drinks and staff. My favorites are the clarified milks – Shore Thing and Do U Believe. Really tasty and smooth, but really they all are. The menu has a lot to choose from and I’ve tried most. You can’t go wrong. The bartenders are fantastic and know their craft well. You can ask them about how they came up with some of the drinks, or make you something specific. Argyle is located downstairs from the restaurant, you talk to the host at the restaurant door and they’ll you down. It’s a pretty big space, can accommodate groups.

The Argyle is a sensational spot located downstairs of the Markette restaurant. @chrisrft12 is the bar director and you can taste and feel the effort, love and care put into all of the cocktails on the menu. I had the pleasure of being guided through the experience by the brilliant and charming brother @vtotheill

Here’s what I had:

Emerald City – Whiskey infused with pandan and coconut . Mix with black lime, matcha and egg white. This was delicate and mysterious. I know the pandan is probably going to stand out for most people but the black lime is think is the star of the show.

Pinky Swear – What a fruity candy flavor. Tequila, golden berry, pineapple, nectarine, lime. This is one of those drinks that is a great introduction to tequila. There’s just enough agave flavor mixed within the fruit flavors.

Sodo Mojo – This taste just like i want. Orangey and delicious. The brown sugar adds and extra element of roundness. I don’t want to hear any more nonsense about how orange isn’t supposed to go in cocktails. If done right it’s amazing. This is amazing

Martini Tropical- A slighty spicy martini thats bone dry with a nice fruit notes in the back drop. This is a drink for James Bond while he’s on vacation.

Champs-Élysées – An absolute classic from the 1930s Don’t question the classics

PB & J Sazerac – What an incredible mouth feel. I never really liked Sazerac but this is so much more. The peanut butter is there in almost like a distilled form. It’s not absurdly sweet but just enough concord grape to create a beautiful balance.

Creamsicle Fizz – The happiest combination of sauternes, orange soda, and a creamsicle foam. This drink does a lot of things I love. It’s clear, it’s fizzy, it has a delicious foam, and importantly it puts orange in a cocktail and its amazing.

Vieux carre – classic cocktail Don’t question the classics

Espresso Martini (tequila based) Don’t question the classics.

The new cocktail lounge tucked beneath Markette in Chelsea, it feels like a natural extension of the team’s point of view. Led by partners India Doris (formerly of two-Michelin-starred SAGA) and Alex Pfaffenbach (Eleven Madison Park, Quality Branded), the space pairs a nostalgia-driven cocktail program with Caribbean-influenced small plates and elevated sandwiches.

Bar Director Chris Figueroa delivers a playful yet thoughtful drinks menu. The food goes beyond expectations—deeply satisfying and expressive, drawing from Doris’ Caribbean heritage and personal food memories.

Designed by Fogarty Finger, the lounge is warm and transportive. The vibe strikes that rare balance of upscale yet inviting, equally suited for dinner and drinks or a small group dinner event.

Must-orders:
Wellfleet oysters
Fried fish sandwich
Fries (+ caviar)

Killer addition to the midtown cocktail scene. Had the Paloma and Creamsicle – both great.

The downstairs lounge is spacious and has a great vibe. Some nice comfortable chairs around for prime people watching too.

My pal also tried the straciatella ice cream and that looked fantastic.

Staff were all incredibly nice and welcoming. Looking forward to coming back.

Stopped in for drinks to catch up with a girlfriend and had such a good time. The cocktails were excellent (pb&j sazerac was my fav), the bartenders were really welcoming, and the music set the perfect vibe. One of those spots where you end up staying longer than you planned.

The Argyle is a stylish cocktail bar featuring inventive drinks and delicious food from the kitchen of the restaurant it resides under: Markette.

The PB&J Sazerac was wonderful and paired beautifully with the Jerk Rib Sandwich.

The aesthetic and mood is gorgeous, so if you’re looking for a cool late night bite, consider The Argyle.

Also, they take InKind to save your wallet a bit (get $25 off using the link in my bio).

Finally got to check out the downstairs bar / lounge / restaurant below Markette after a show at The Garden next door.

Having been to Markette now a couple times, this place had been on my list to check out, especially after I realized they’d be open after the show for a nightcap.

The food is run by the same chef as the restaurant upstairs but they do have bar special items like a jerk rib sandwich with homemade coco bread I’ll have to try next time. The bar director Chris curated the perfect playlist to see the vibe as u fined at the dynamic bar that lowers down to wheelchair height.

We came a little after 8pm on a Thursday and sat at the bar – the decor was beautiful, service was attentive, and drinks were delicious. Loved the unique glassware which really helped to complement the drinks; we got the Do U Believe and Emerald City and both were great!

Great new bar downstairs from Markette.

We tried two drinks:
1. The PB&J Sazerac which was fantastic. I was reluctant to order it at first since I’m not a big Sazerac fan and have had bad PB&J flavored drinks. However, the waitress recommended it and it was indeed a great sipping cocktail.
2. We then had the Holy Mole, which was a twist on an espresso martini, and also worked well.

(Both of these got recommended by the waitress)

For food, we had the jerk club sandwich and peri peri tenders. The sandwich was rich and well executed with soft rib meat and a great spice rub and sauce. The tenders were crunchy and the peri peri sauce made them perfect as a side for drinks.

The room is big and has great acoustics. Me and my friend could easily talk and hear the background music without being bothered by a 20 people group in the other side of the room.

Overall, this is a great bar for cocktails, elevated food for catching up or a date.
