Apple Peddler Restaurant offers an authentically all-American dining experience for the whole family with four locations across Oregon and one in California. Founder and owner Carl Wheeler has always appreciated families enjoying themselves at meal time. He started working in the restaurant industry at a young age and as a teenager, he helped in the kitchen of his parents’ restaurant. With the experience from working at his parents’ restaurant under his belt, he found employment with a growing family restaurant chain. He worked his way from cook to vice president. After years of continued growth and experience as vice president, he left in 1987 and opened his first Apple Peddler Restaurant.

This place is amazing!! My buddy got the breakfast chicken fried steak and it came with a huge side order of biscuits and gravy and 2 eggs…I got French toast with warm apple cinnamon and whipped cream, sausage and eggs. The waitress was lovely. The chicken fried steak was crispy and amazing. Coffee refills as soon as it got low. 10/10 will stop here again. I love traveling and finding great food spots… this is one!!!

A great place to eat. The service was good and the server had a sense of humor. And that is rare.
The food was delicious and we had a great time.
If you would like to try something different, then take a trip to Southern,OR.
To the Apple Peddler Restaurant.
Great food,and service

Stopped by here today and got lunch.
The bacon cheese burger was delicious and it came with fries.
We also shared a piece of coconut cream pie and it was delicious. It was the best coconut cream pie we have ever tasted.
Our server was nice.
If there were more servers like her,

We took a trip down South and stopped at the Apple Peddler Restaurant to eat.
One got meat Loaf dinner, another got fish and chips, and two of us got bacon Cheeseburger with fries.
Everyone loved the food they got.

Every restaurant would not have a problem.

Conveniently located right off the interstate five in Sutherline this makes for easy access for the weary traveler. Restaurant is clean and staff appears very conscientious about sanitation. The menu has a wide variety of breakfast and comfort food. They even offered their own labeled jams and jellies.

This restaurant was nice. The service was fast and food come out of the kitchen quickly. The food was good except the clam chowder was average. Of course I had to order apple pie. The apple pie was served warm and delicious. Only suggestion is server could offer to refill pop when dessert is served.

The food was good once we eventually got it. It was very understaffed. 1 waitress with a packed full restaurant didn’t work well We had a large table that should have had a waitress if our own. We had to get our own coffee, creamer and condiments. They forgot my daughters plate I guess 1 out of 9 want to bad lol. Their pie was delicious though.

I had an event about 20 minutes away for few days. Tho the event had food Apple Peddler was so good that I went there 3 times! Coffee is to die for honestly, and with the super friendly staff that always keep it topped off you don’t even have to ask for things. It’s like they read your mind! I’m glad to have eaten here and will be back soon for another meal!

This has to be one of our new favorite places to eat! It doesn’t look like anything special from the outside but everything we have tried on the menu was great! We’ve loved their French dip, pulled pork and my son enjoyed the grilled cheese. Their desserts are amazing!! The blackberry cobbler is the best I’ve had. My hubby enjoyed the Amish peanut butter pie and my son loved his carrot cake!

The Apple Peddler was est in 1987, as the menus will tell you on the cover. One could surmise the restaurant hasn’t seen much, if any remodeling since then as well. On the surface it appears to be a lovely, and even stylish 80s diner. However. The trim is peeling in several places, sometimes held on by scotch tape, the bathrooms are frighteningly unhygienic to say the least, and the old 80s ceiling has certainly seen better days. The faux leather booth seats were old, peeling, and cracked. The places not disguised by trim looked unclean, and untouched for years.

The service. I was seated fairly quickly upon entering, the staff was kind, and even a bit overly attentive. The waitress stopped at my booth every time she passed, which was considerate at first, but became an annoyance as time went on. Bring me a variety of condiments before the food arrived. The service I would actually still give a 4/5. After roughly 30 minutes the food made its way out.

On to the meal itself. I ordered a chicken fried steak, with over hard eggs, and a side of 3 pancakes. No drinks, but their less than fresh tasting tap water. The chicken fried steak was hard and dreadfully dry on the outside, the batter inconsistent across the whole steak, thicker/thinner in several places. My eggs were cooked decent, albeit a bit slimy on the surface, some of the yolk not having cooked thoroughly in some places. Finally, the pancakes, 3 dry, rubbery pancakes, that without a fair amount of sugar/butter lack almost any flavor. The value of this experience i would say is on par with a local lackluster Sharis.

If you are simply passing through, and need something to eat on the way out, it may be worth it, you won’t find much better sit down for some miles in either direction. If you aren’t overly hungry though, opting to go to the next couple towns over, isn’t a bad decision, unless you really want to try this places desserts.

Great spot for lunch. A bit of a walk from the DQ where we were charging our Electric vehicle but worth it. Good value and yummy.
