In 1954, ten prominent Dundee, Illinois area businessmen had a dream to create a private dinner club where they could unwind and enjoy the very best in food and service. Fast forward to today – since Fall of 2020, The Anvil Club is open to the public. Our goal is to provide top-shelf drinks, menu selections, and – above all – service that leaves you with memories of your visit that last.
Fine American cuisine is on the menu at this refined, brick-walled members’ venue with a full bar.

This was such a phenomenal experience. We had Mike Cohen playing guitar and singing as entertainment. He created such a relaxing atmosphere. Everything we had to eat was above our expectations and delicious from the bread to desert. We got escargot, Caesar salad, lobster bisque, ribeye steak, lobster, filet, seabass, chicken Frances, and creme brûlée. It was such a fun date night when you want to treat yourselves! Oh and the Brandy old fashions go down like nothing. They taste like candy so be careful

Our table was ready when we arrived. The staff took the time to see on our reservation we marked this as an anniversary dinner and congratulated us as we were sat. First time at Anvil Club for my wife and I. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. Wedge salad with sharp bleu cheese, tender filet mignon…the stuffed mushrooms were amazing and the lobster bisque was extraordinary. As a 1st time diner, we were offered Brandy Ice; this was the coldest ice cream we’ve ever had and wow so delicious. Our server recommended to add the Brandy Ice to our coffee and wow, what a treat! We highly recommend the Anvil Club as a local gem. This is a must try.

Who knew? The absolute best corn beef and cabbage I’ve ever had served in a restaurant! The generous serving of lean corn beef served over cabbage, potato and carrots, were cooked to perfection. We were served in the bar , with fantastic music and service. The ambiance, food and staff are fantastic, a great gathering place for friends or date night!

My first visit, a long time member brought me so I got a tour and history. Beautiful place!!! A fascinating history! The service was excellent! My food was served on a nice hot plate and everything was delicious! Piano player really added to the ambiance! Loved it so much I am going back this week. As of 1/20/22 I have been back many times, still LOVE it. Thursday night Mark Miller piano is excellent! Back again Sept 9th. The chicken picatta is my favorite with potatoes instead of linguini, the kitchen is always accommodating. Back Mar 8th to see Mark Miller play piano, again excellent!

There are few places that can feel homey and elegant at the same time, but this place does it. Keep in mind that it’s a supper club; so, you do need to be a member, but membership has its privileges. For example, I’m vegetarian and I asked the chef to prepare a unique meal for me and he did.
