Let me tell yall about The Angelo Pizza!! Came from Florida for a wedding and had to try it. It was absolutely amazing! We had 4 different pizzas all perfectly cooked! A cheese one with a chicken cutlet, a Paulie, Vinny and Carla. 1000% check it out. #Sunshinereviews

I discovered The Angelo Pizza by chance while out with a friend, and it turned out to be an exceptional find.

As someone who enjoys exploring different pizza spots across the city, I pay close attention to styles, flavors, textures, and the quality of ingredients used. From the very first bite, it was clear that The Angelo Pizza stands out for its commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients and pizzas made entirely from scratch. That dedication creates a truly remarkable taste. One of my favorites on the menu is St. Antney’s, it’s so delicious that I could enjoy it every day.

The restaurant itself has a warm and cozy atmosphere. While the indoor space is modest in size, it’s comfortable for dining in, and during the summer, outdoor seating is available. A particularly important feature is its wheelchair accessibility, including a private restroom—an amenity that isn’t common in many restaurants in the area and one I truly appreciate.

The service is equally impressive. Angelo, the owner, is welcoming, friendly, and a passionate baseball fan. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with genuine hospitality and a positive atmosphere that makes you want to return.

Whether you’re a Philadelphia local, a tourist, or simply passing through, if you’re craving excellent pizza, The Angelo Pizza is a must-visit.

Very good! I got a small pepperoni (soppressata), it was exactly what I wanted for a a coal fire/brick oven type of pizza. Very crispy, and a unique (delicious) taste from the sauce and cheese. It’s a little pricey, but what I expected for the location. Only thing would’ve made it better is a fountain soda. I want to try it with ricotta next time.

This Pizza is amazing!!! I’ve had it twice now. Arguably the best pizza in Philly. Very comparable to NY Style Pizza! Thin crust, very crispy. The sauce is amazing if you get it with the fresh basil. The first time I had the fresh basil, the second i didn’t and it’s a big difference! It’s really a game changer…it’s not enough to knock them. Cause I know once they read my review, they’ll try and get the fresh basil on every Pie.
Definitely will be back again during Football season!

Don’t let it get cold!! I ordered one small plain and one pepperoni pizza, it came to $40. It’s maybe a personal or two person sized pie at best!! I think it’s overly priced for what you get, size and Quality, I was not wowed by the pizza and the kids weren’t crazy about it either.

Sausage, Pep, onions. Really good thin crust. In between floppy and crunchy. The edge could use some butter, small point, get a dipping sauce. But their seasoning and sauce combo is top notch. Flavorful.

I ordered a 12-inch personal pepperoni pizza for $21, and the product I received fell far below any reasonable expectation for that price.

What They Served
• Almost no cheese
• Almost no sauce
• Only a few slices of pepperoni scattered across the entire pizza
• A bland, weak crust that became the only flavor because everything else was missing

This was not an issue of preference or taste. The pizza was visibly under-topped and visibly different from the pizzas shown in their own promotional photos and in customer images online. The difference was so large it cannot be brushed off as “variations.”

Price vs. Product: A Serious Disconnect

A $21 personal pizza should come with:
• a normal amount of cheese
• a normal amount of sauce
• enough toppings to cover the pizza
• a crust that complements the ingredients

What Angelo’s delivered did not meet even basic standards for a standard-priced pizza, let alone a premium-priced one.
From a customer-value standpoint, this was a severe mismatch between cost and delivered product.

Expectation vs. Reality

Their public photos show pizzas with:
• far more cheese
• clearly layered sauce
• a full spread of toppings

What I received was nowhere close.
This is a major representation gap — the marketed product and the delivered product did not align.

The Service Experience

Before ordering, I called and asked if they stood behind their food with a satisfaction guarantee. I was told yes.
After receiving an obviously under-made pizza, I called to request a refund based on that guarantee.
My request was dismissed immediately, and when I mentioned that I write reviews, I was told my call “must be a joke.”

That response speaks for itself.

Context That Makes This Even Clearer

This was the meal I planned to enjoy before starting a fast — something simple and satisfying. Instead, I got a pizza so lacking in basic ingredients that it didn’t feel worth eating at all.

The Bottom Line

Angelo’s charged a premium price and delivered a pizza with:
• minimal ingredients
• poor execution
• no meaningful flavor
• no alignment with their promotional images
• no accountability when the issue was raised

If you care about quality, value for money, or basic consistency, this experience showed none of it.

There are many places in Philadelphia that respect your money and serve the product they advertise. Based on this visit, Angelo’s did not.

My favorite pizza in Philly. The sauce, the crust, the cheese, everything about it is phenomenal. The sauce has tons of flavor and the crust is nice and crunchy, but not overdone. It’s the perfect pizza.
