The Anchor is a hidden gem on the coast of Maine that absolutely deserves your attention. From the moment you walk through the door, to the time that you leave, this is a restaurant that treats you well. The service was fantastic, and the food was among some of the best I’ve had in quite some time.

Such a beautiful spot right on Round Pond with an amazing view of the boats on the water. The staff was so friendly and attentive. It was an upscale place, but also great for little kids too. The food was incredible. The calamari is a must get. The banana sauce that came with it was so creative and delicious. Highly recommend this place during your next trip in the Bristol area!

Food was pretty disappointing, especially at their price point. We had a large variety of their dishes at our table (tacos, scallops, pasta special, salads, etc.) and most were lacking in flavor and just weren’t that great. Plenty of better options for food on the peninsula. Staff was wonderful, but overall the restaurant just isn’t really worth it.

This place is great!! We just went for drinks, super friendly bartender, he figured out a cocktail he hadn’t made in a while for us. Good bar area. We definitely want to come back.

Had a very troublesome day and needed to eat supper. We didn’t have reservations and it was pretty full. But, they were able to find us a table for 3. Thank goodness for a good ending to a bad day.

Reservations are highly encouraged, but they were able to accommodate us just fine. The blueberry martinis were awesome. My husband’s lobster was delish. Try the calamari–so good. and my roasted romaine wedge with pickled beets, tomatoes that tasted like candy, and blue cheese was awesome.

My family and I had a very unpleasant & disappointing dining experience at The Anchor tonight. The menu itself was already severely lacking in every way however it was without ANY hesitation significantly OVER-priced across the board which I found shocking given the less than mediocre food and poor slow service.

Mediocre quality food and skimpy portions. My guest ordered fried clams and got only a few clams smothered in french fries. And this plate was $27.00. Very disappointing and embarrassing to me as someone who recommended this restaurant. The tacos tasted ok but were quite small. My burger was overcooked and they forgot to bring my side salad. The hostess was gracious and works hard but this is not what I expected from this well know area restaurant, which I had visited several times in previous years with better impressions. A sad commentary on waterfront Maine cuisine. I will not be returning.
