We ate lunch at the American Sector restaurant in building 2 of the WWII Museum. We started with an old fashioned and a Bloody Mary. The old fashioned was very smooth and good. The Bloody Mary was one of the best I’ve ever had with their homemade mix and horseradish! It had just the right amount of kick! For appetizers we ordered a cup of the flavorful gumbo. Then for the entrees we ordered the perfectly cooked shrimp and tender, creamy grits with very good gravy! Everything was absolutely delicious!

We stopped by here for lunch because it’s in the museum and has decent reviews. You can also enter from the street on the Magazine St. & Poeyfarre St. Side.
I stepped away from Southern fare for a moment and had a fried chicken sandwich with French fries. My son enjoyed a shrimp po’ boy. Both were good and served promptly.
Lots of natural light with minimal noise. Low-top, booth, and bar seating. Comfortable seats and very clean. In fact, we saw the staff cleaning the tables with a spray as soon as a guest left. Excellent service. It was a lovely lunch break, so we could resume touring the museum.

I really like everything about the World War II Museum in New Orleans and I was also pleasantly surprised with the tasty food at the American Sector restaurant. I didn’t want a heavy meal since I still had so more exploring to do so I requested a lettuce wrapped burger and they didn’t disappoint. This is a really nice looking restaurant for a museum and it is pretty spacious with enough seating for small or large groups. The restaurant staff were friendly and very welcoming.

We had lunch here while visiting the museum. Great food! The soup of the day was amazing and the shrimp and grits were very good too. I love a good lemon meringue pie and it’s really well done here

We were there for lunch. I had the cheeseburger and my sister had the shrimp Po boy. We were seated for quite a long time. Waited and waited. Tables were cleaned and other customers came in and had their food before our’s arrived. When we did get our food it was cold, the bread was hard. A lady came by to ask how everything was and before we could respond she turned and left. We were not impressed and will not return.

Ordered various menu items and they were all delicious. We had po boys from a handful of local restaurants and we all agreed the one in this restaurant was the best. The staff was friendly, food came out fast and hot and it was a relaxing environment to eat. Great value for the price.

This establishment was a five minute walk from where I was staying, and I’m happy I made it a destination. I got a shrimp Po Boy, a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo, and an Irish coffee to go.
Everything was good, and the portion sizes were generous. The Irish coffee lived up to its name.
This is a place I would definitely visit again.

Terrible service. We ordered two burgers, but only one arrived because the order had been misplaced. After waiting almost 40 minutes for the first burger, we had to wait for the second, time that cut into our visit. On top of that, my burger contained two very hard pieces of questionable origin that hurt my mouth. And, as if that weren’t enough, around 3:10 (close to closing time), the staff decided to sweep near us while my boyfriend was finally eating after an hour. Absolutely terrible.

The salad and oysters we had were decent, but the desserts were lacking. I would say what was really lacking was the service. We waited forever for all of our food and only really saw our waitress when she brought the check. It was also WAY overpriced for the very small portions. They truly take advantage of their convenient location. If you can walk somewhere nearby, it just might be worth it. We lost a good hour of museum time waiting for our waitress.

The burger was just not very good. The bun seemed really stale. And the iced tea was either old or the pitcher was not appropriately cleaned.
