Brought my wife for a date, making a reservation through Resy. Friday evening and sat at the bar. Atmosphere was warm and cozy, and the restaurant was full. We showed up 5 minutes before our reservation and we were sat immediately. We had water and menus right after being sat and some small chat with the server. I ordered a cocktail and my wife a glass of wine, both were excellent. We ordered the Crudo to start, which was Maine bluefin tuna and it was phenomenal. Buttery, fresh, tender, and so flavorful. For our entrees, I had the Cod, and my wife the chicken leg. We both tasted each others and loved both plates. The cod had a beautiful curry sauce with charred cabbage and it was perfect. The chicken had crispy skin, bok choy and was juicy and so flavorful. We split a black sesame Sunday for dessert with a miso caramel sauce and it was wonderful. Beautiful balance and a nice treat to finish the meal. We had a chance to chat with a few of the employees and the owner came and chatted with us for a few moments. After dinner we found a few items in the shop, which had some neat items. It was truly a rememberable experience, and we are already looking forward to returning for another meal!!! 10/10 we recommend.

As usual, The Alna Store takes food to the next level. I have had their fish sandwich twice. Menu rotates, but whatever season you’re there—try a special! You won’t regret it. I usually go alone and whether I’m at the bar or a table, friendly conversation awaits if you so desire. So many good coffee and dessert offerings, too. I’m glad this place exists.

Nice Brunch in the countryside.

Got this place recommended by a colleague and came for brunch this past weekend. We arrived a little after noon, and despite being well outside any major town, the restaurant was completely packed. The only open spot was an outdoor table swarmed by wasps. We agreed to take it, but the staff kindly moved us indoors as soon as a table opened up.

The menu here leaned into that familiar farm-to-table, ingredient-driven fusion style you’d commonly find in bigger cities. The dinner menu looked more inventive and truer to their philosophy, and we wished we had time to stay in the area to try it. The upside of brunch, though, was getting to try a few items from their bakery section.

We started off with the seared banana bread, and it was the best griddled version I’ve had. Denser and less crumbly than most, with layers of honey, olive oil, salt, and espresso all working together seamlessly.
Next was the cauliflower agrodolce, which every nearby table seemed to order. The stewed beans in the agrodolce sauce were comforting and familiar, while the fioretto cauliflower (my first time trying it) maintained its crunch even after steaming.

In the Chicken & Waffle, the waffle was meh but the chicken & slaw were fantastic. They used fennel and ginger aioli to give it a more distinctive aroma, and it really worked well with the chili garlic maple glaze on the chicken.

On the side, we also tried the cod chowder, a lighter, herbier take on the usual New England style. The broth was clean and brothy, and while the cod itself was a tad rubbery, I liked the refreshing finish. Only thing we didn’t like were the pancakes. Not bad, just plain compared to everything else on the table.

Would definitely come back for dinner next time we’re in the area.

Amazing locally sourced farm to table food. Very intense flavors. If you like bland, stay away!! Menu changes frequently so unlikely the dishes we had will ve available when you go for dinner but do go! Service was knowledgeable and pitch perfect. I also loved the oyster shell martini.

We took our san and his wife here, they really wanted to go and had heard great things. First- Parking was a nightmare, finally parked in the mud partially in the road. Walking from the car to the front door took us past the dumpsters, not appealing.
We had to wait over 30 min for our reserved table and were told we could wait at the bar. Once we stepped over to the bar, we were told to wait in the market area and our order would be taken there. We did get a great recommend for a bottle of wine.
Once seated, it took an extremely long time to get the appetizer and our mains came staggered (four of us) about 30 minutes later. The waits for dishes had no flow at all. It was a mystery when one might show up. We were not able to wait for everyone to get served or our dishes would have gotten cold.
Service was so slow one might think they are being pranked.
The food- the raw oysters, kimchi, asparagus and bread and butter were great.
The chicken dish was okay. The breast was way overcooked and dry, the thigh was good. There were too many sauces that most didn’t add to the dishes. The tarragon was not appetizing at all.
The Lamb Kebob was good but nothing special.
The halibut was good but the sauce had no flavor as did the vegetables.
The atmosphere is loud and too crowded, it was had to even have a conversation at our table.
The experience was a disappointment for the coat.

What a STELLAR meal! Highlights included: (i) fresh local oysters, (ii) broiled Maine scallops, (iii) lamb skewers, and (iv) ALL of the desserts!!! Everything was fantastic!

The vibe is super cozy. Clearly so much love going into everything. We really appreciated that all of the Alna Store’s food is curated with an emphasis on local and sustainable sources. Truly a special place! We look forward to making it back again! Thank you!!!!

The Alna Store is one of those places we’re just genuinely grateful exists out here. In a pretty remote stretch of Maine, they’re turning out a rotating menu that’s thoughtful, creative, and consistently delicious.

I honestly can’t think of a dish I wouldn’t order again. The owner and staff are warm, unfussy, and great about accommodating dietary restrictions without making it feel complicated.

It serves this community really well. We’re lucky to have it close by.

Amazing meal.
Jasper, Bobbie, Evelyn, and Henry took such good care of us. The wine pairings were perfect.
The food, as shown:
Broccolini
Flounder crudo
Grilled Sardine with amazing sourdough bread
Roasted half chicken (this was my favorite – though the sardine was incredible)
Sardinian gnocchi
Brown butter radishes- so good!
Chocolate pot de crème with biscotti
Coconut mango sorbet

This is hands down our favorite food experience every time we come to Maine. The food is incredibly fresh and executed perfectly. I will remember the chicken for years to come.

They are endlessly creative menus, matching unconventional flavors seamlessly with local products resulting in flavor profiles that make you wonder why no one else has thought of them.

The hospitality is exceptional, which can only from friendly, highly knowledgeable staff who are proud of the food they have made and are eager to share it with you.
