Stopped by here for lunch while driving thru Harlem. Cool atmosphere, located in a bed and breakfast style setting. Very polite staff. Kid friendly. Tables have paper coverings and our waitress encouraged our daughter to draw on the paper covering with the crayons they provided. That made us and our daughter very happy!
I ordered a Philly cheese steak with house chips and my wife got the chicken finger basket. My Philly was very good! Really enjoyed it. My wife said that the chicken fingers were just ok, but she knew ahead of time that they were not home Meade chicken fingers. We got the acorn bites as an appetizer and they were extremely good!

Definitely a lot more on the menu that we are going to try!
Give this place a shot!

I came in for breakfast early on a Saturday morning. The restaurant is part of a B&B, Red Oak Manor, and it fits with that kind of vibe. I was the only diner and it was very quiet in there until someone eventually turned on the TV.

The staff was very friendly and when I ordered the lady taking the order let me know the biscuits might take an extra couple of minutes. Managing expectations, good move since I could have pivoted to toast if time was an issue. Where they lost a star was when my omelet came out without the grits and I was told they weren’t quite ready. After a wait I was offered potatoes which I decided to go with but she went ahead and brought the grits and explained the consistency wasn’t what they liked. They were soupy. Good quality and tasty, but soupy.

The omelet on the other hand was great. I got the Acorn Omelet that had onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon pieces, white cheddar and a generous portion of pork tenderloin chunks. Very nice omelet.

I feel like there is 5 star potential here and definitely recommend trying them. Oh yeah and the price can’t be beat.

They saved me! I didn’t know they made the fixings for my tea party bridal shower until my baker fell apart and I messaged Renee and they helped me with only a few days notice! Everyone was delighted with the look and taste of everything at the party! Thank you so much!!

The waitress was really sweet, but what I ordered was terrible. The food was not as I expected l, wasn’t seasoned well, and the pulled pork was actually cubed and cold! The waitress was nice, apologized and rewarded it, but by then I lost my appetite. I just paid and left. The high chair foe my daughter was super sticky and dirty. I just held her in my lap. NOT going back

I’ve eaten here a few times but it’s been a while since I have. Most of that is due to the pricing. Seems a bit steep for me to take the whole family. The food is good but just above average. There are some dishes that are surprisingly phenomenal such as their steak. I never expected a country kitchen to put out decent steaks such as this place has. The atmosphere is what I believe most people rave about when they tell others “you simply must eat at the Acorn”. It’s very much a country style place where everyone even strangers are exusingly nice to you. It’s worth a try at a minimum.

I ordered their loaded potato soup and grilled cheese to go…the restaurant smelled so good when I walked in, and was very cozy and inviting. I also loved every bite of my food, was so flavorful and delicious, and was so comforting on this cold dreary day! Would definitely return!

We’ve lived here for over 2 years and I have been wanting to try the acorn that entire time. I am SO sad we waited. The food is good, home cooking. It is also inexpensive and family friendly. It’s not fancy food, so don’t go expecting anything extravagant. What is really great, is the environment. The waitress, Renee, and Oma, both sat and talked to us and were so incredibly friendly. We felt like a part of the family eating with them. We can’t wait to go back and try their dinner!

Lovely family run business. Had breakfast here with Renee and her mom and dad and other hotel guests from Dalton Ga. It was like sitting in the social hall while having a home cooked breakfast. My choice was for the Acorn eggs/ grits/ bacon and toast. The grits were perfectly cooked. With a creamy quality (milk?) The seasoning is a family secret- if you love the grits and ask nicely, they might give you a second helping! Bacon was crisp. Sour dough toast was great.
