My husband and were celebrating our anniversary and this was the restaurant in the host hotel. We decided to give it a try and it was absolutely amazing. Izzy was our server and she was absolutely phenomenal. We had a theme that we were going with and I asked her for a drink request and she made it as close as possible, but it was absolutely terrific. Nevertheless, the food was incredible. My husband had the steak and fries and I had the salmon plate. To cap it off we actually shared an elevator ride with the executive chef who was very nice and very welcoming. We didn’t get his name, but he was absolutely amazing. The whole experience was amazing and we’re not from Florida at all so I would highly recommend anyone who’s stopping by this area to stop in this restaurant even if you’re not staying in the hotel, it was truly a good experience.

We chose this restaurant for Christmas dinner, expecting something special — especially at $65 per person. Instead, the buffet was shockingly bad.
The food looked like cafeteria food and tasted just as bad. Most items were bland, overcooked, or simply unappealing. Nothing felt fresh, festive, or worth the price.
Christmas dinner should feel warm and celebratory — this felt like a cash grab with no attention to quality. Huge disappointment and absolutely not worth the cost.

We have eaten here a few times during ours stays at the hotel. The server was amazing super prompt and friendly. The food was great every time. Easter brunch was definitely more than delicious. The manager was also so nice. Our drinks from the bars for dinner na brunch were both amazing. We will definitely be back.

I went to the Abolene for Christmas dinner AND the New Years Party. This was my second New Years here. The food was TOP NOTCH. Absolutely delicious! The food, the decorations, the kindness of the servers…..it made everything so special!!

We went to celebrate our 6th anniversary in this restaurant. It was Thursday evening at almost no people in there but we booked our table ahead of time to be sure. The view and atmosphere is very nice as it is right next to the ocean. I also loved our server from Jamaica. I ordered salmon risotto which was very delicious. We also ordered the bread appetizer. A place like this should maybe have this as an added bonus to start with. We then looked at the deserts as well but nothing really peaked our interest as we wanted something really chocolate based and they did not have anything with only chocolate base. There was a lemon cake, coconut rice pudding, peanut cake, banana bread pudding etc. The surprise came that we were then charged a “forced 20 %” gratuity in the end. When my husband commented about that to the host lady and she took it very seriously and actually got us a little anniversary cake as a gift. Even though we did not think of returning because of the forced gratuity – the cake gift was a nice touch and we may consider returning in the future. The whole hotel lobby experience was also very special. I feel very attracted to the mermaid theme and there were very special pictures of water and mermaids. We parked in the public parking and walked a bit to the restaurant but you can also valet park in the hotel. You can then validate your parking while you eat.

Tried it twice now and I really want to like it (because I like this hotel). Food is beautifully presented and consistently terrible. Lobster dry, tough, way overseasoned, while the risotto is undercooked (crunchy, actually). Prior meal had terrible, fishy salmon and overseas ones filet. Service was poor and no manager could be found (40 minute search apparently, 2 guests in the restaurant). Bummer, as it’s a nice location and feel.

Wellll, its hard to discuss the food quality when I just found out my bank account was wiped clean while on vacation. $8.00 left. This was 2 days after handing my bank card to the waiter who took it and ran the charge out of sight. Now, I have no proof, but I have not used the card at any other establishment and everything on line is supposed to be encrypted. So, the food was good and I would go back but next time I will either bring cash or use a credit card should we ever stay in this hotel again. If you want a steak…get the steak frites and not the ‘prime’ steak. I got the prime steak and couldn’t eat more than 1 piece as it was rubbery and tough. My husband got the steak frites and it was the opposite…melt in your mouth tender and one of the best cuts I ever tasted. So I threw my $50 dinner out and we shared my husband’s. When I told the waiter how bad my steak was he literally laughed and walked away. Sigh.

Our experience in the Daytona Ocean Grande was incredible. It’s a wonderful hotel to spend a good vacation. Highlight the wonderful restaurant the abalone with its incredible food and attention, thanks to Theo who was our server during our stay.

We were the only Asian table having breakfast in the restaurant. Less than 10 minutes after we sat down, a waiter with glasses brought us the check and placed it on our table while we were still eating.
At first, I thought he would do the same for every other table, but he didn’t. We were the only table that received the check before finishing our meal.
This made us feel singled out and uncomfortable. Whether intentional or not, this behavior felt like discrimination or bias, and it really affected our experience.

Our server, Andre, was wonderful! Food was fantastic!! Best we’ve had in Daytona. Compliments to the chef! This could be a 5 star restaurant if little changes were made. The lighting is too bright and abrasive. Dimming the lighting and removing the Hobby Lobby lanterns from the tables would be.
