We’ve lived here 7 years and somehow never ate at 404 Kitchen. What a hidden gem in the middle of the Gulch. We were there on a Friday night and they weren’t too busy. Our waiter was fantastic. The food was on par with the best restaurants in Nashville and better than most.

AND unlike most restaurants in Nashville the seats were comfortable and it wasn’t too loud.

We will definitely be back!

We made an 8 reservation, we arrived 5 minutes early and were seated right away. Serena greeted us promptly with water and offered us a chance to review the cocktail menu. We ordered cocktails and the pork belly to start. We told Serena we were there for fried chicken and she said it’s amazing but have you tired the 72 hour dry aged tritips? We thought about and gave it a chance. They were fantastic! The twice baked potatoes with blue cheese were the perfect side. Serena was attentive but not obtrusive, she made helpful suggestions and never forgot about us! Amazing service and great food!

We tried 6 different cocktails and they were all very good. The vibe and decorations was nice and not too stuffy. The staffs including waitress and runner were very nice and attentive. Food was okay. Catfish bites were battered and fried well. We had the trout, salmon, and duck entrees and it seemed like they didn’t have a hot enough pan and rushed on searing the food so skins were only partially crispy. The duck skin definitely had to sear longer as it still had a layer of chewy fat. I thought the corn bread was too oily and salty. The beer collard greens did not have much flavor. The chocolate creme brulee was very good.

For some reason this place wasn’t busy. Wine list could be improved. Pork belly was just ok. Otherwise, food was very good. Shrimp and grits, blondie, short rib and duck breast all solid.

I always enjoy my meals here! We went on a weeknight and there was two of us and we both very much enjoyed our dinner. They also probably have one of the best bourbon selections in downtown Nashville, certainly in The Gulch

The 404 Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone looking for elevated Southern-inspired dining in Nashville. The food, ambiance, and service were all exceptional!
• Best Bite in Nashville: The 72-Hour Dry Aged Tri Tip was, without a doubt, the best food we had on our entire trip to Nashville. Incredibly tender, bursting with rich, complex flavor, it truly melted in your mouth. A spectacular dish!
• Outstanding Service: A huge shout-out to our server, Delaney, who was absolutely amazing. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic, making our dining experience truly special from start to finish.
If you are in The Gulch, make sure to book a table here—you won’t regret it!

We are foodies and have had 404 on our list for a while. We finally got the chance to go and we’re not disappointed! Colton Cahill, the chef, and wait staff were professional and timely. We tried about everything we could handle and must say the flavors we on point! The dining room was comfortable and wasn’t loud either. Be sure and get their Old Fashioned, it was wonderful! Be sure you don’t miss their dessert selection!

Elijah and Delaney as bartenders were so perfect with deciding what to have for our cocktails! I am so difficult because I don’t absolutely love liquor and then so is my boyfriend because he loves everything about every note of whiskey hahahahaha. They answered every question perfectly and made us feel so welcome!

I had the BEST experience this evening! Jordan was my server and he was the best server I’ve ever had. So kind, attentive, funny, just all around such a great person. He had amazing recommendations and descriptions of each dish! You can tell he takes his job seriously and works hard to make the guests have an amazing time and throughly enjoy their meal. 10/10 recommend Things I ate he recommended, duck and the bourbon cake!
