Our work colleagues and I had the pleasure of dining at this incredible Indian restaurant, and I can honestly say it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable—warm, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. The staff truly made us feel like honored guests.
Now, the food—absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor and clearly made with care and skill. The chili chicken was the perfect balance of heat and savory richness, with just the right amount of spice to make it exciting without overwhelming the palate. The butter chicken was unbelievably creamy and flavorful, with tender pieces of chicken in a sauce so good you’ll want to drink it. And don’t even get me started on the biryani—perfectly cooked, aromatic, and layered with complex spices that kept every bite interesting.
Of course, no Indian meal is complete without naan, and theirs was soft, buttery, and the perfect vehicle for soaking up every bit of sauce.

This place is a real gem in Lacombe!! The food is brilliant! Everything we tried tonight we loved: Masala Papad (Indian Tacos), Channa Salad, Butter Naan, Shabnam Kofta Curry, Lamb Biryani, and Gulab Jamun with Rabri for dessert. Lots of flavour and very accommodating regarding the level of spice. Priced very reasonably. Service was so quick and friendly.

Was looking for a place for dinner while coming back from Kraay Family farm as everyone was so hungry and tired. Found this place on google and decided to give it a try and we were blown away. Fantastic food and excellent service. Beautiful and authentic Indian taste. We requested some dishes to be mild for kiddos and others to be spicy for adults. They accommodated out request perfectly, everyone enjoyed their meal including kids. Highly recommend. Would definitely come back.

Tonight was our first time visiting 1947.
Let’s start with the food. Everything was fantastic. The butter chicken seemed a bit shy on chicken but that is the norm these days. Note that it seems to be chunks of chicken breast as opposed to the more traditional chunks of tandoori chicken (all types). The mushroom curry was the highlight of our meal. So savoury and delicious with a great depth of flavour.
Next, the room. There is a lot of white going on in here and the decor is a bit stark. Nice enough tho. The room is fairly cold as there is not much of a windbreak from the door to the dining area.
Service was pretty good tho slow at the beginning. Overall fine.
Quibbles: things I would change…tables should be cleaned promptly. No, there weren’t people waiting but people eating don’t want to sit next to a dirty table.
Also, invest in nicer napkins. Fast food napkin dispensers are cheap and don’t feel like they “go” with nice Indian food.
Overall, we will definitely be back. A great addition to the area

When my family & I entered the restaurant, the buffet items had been sitting there for a while but the staff quickly replaced everything with fresh food from the kitchen. The ‘Sea Breeze’ is a must try! Interior of the restaurant is also very nice and clean. Was surprised to see this type of setup, judging how small of a town Lacombe is.
