We love this farm to table restaurant and highly recommend it! We wanted to eat a healthy meal, and their Terrace Inn signature salad and roasted beet salad caught our eye. Unfortunately, their menu changed, and those 2 salads were no longer on the menu. So, instead, my husband and I ordered the small plates and shared the buffalo burrata with heirloom tomatoes and basil salad, stuffed mushrooms, broccoli with pickled red onions, and a panzanella salad. Everything was delicious, especially the stuffed mushrooms and the broccoli. We were very impressed and did get the healthy meal we wanted!

The vibe and ambience at 1911 Restaurant in Petoskey are absolutely charming, cozy, historic, and full of character. The food was incredible from start to finish, every bite was delicious and beautifully prepared. Service was warm and attentive. A perfect spot for a memorable night out. Highly recommend!

What a quaint place. We celebrated our parent’s 25th anniversary and this was a perfect place for it. The atmosphere is charming and the views from the deck are fantastic. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent. We had the wagyu steak, which was cooked perfectly, the pork chops, and the kid’s BLT. I recommend getting the three-course meal. It is worth it. They even allowed us to bring a cake to celebrate and cut and served it to us. I would recommend this place to anyone. I would say parking can be tricky, but it is manageable.

1911 Restaurant. A charming dinning room and front porch, al fresco, dinning. Nice menu selections. You can order by course or choose a set fee for a 3 course meal. We loved our dining experience.

I was so excited to eat here. I had gotten other recommendations, but I chose 1911 because of their farm to table, seasonal menu. I always try to support local, fresh foods when I can.
I had already scoped out the menu and knew what I wanted. I didnt eat lunch so that the food would taste even better when it came.
I ordered the stuffed mushrooms and the hangar steak, med. rare. I just had water amd let the waitress know I was probably a little dehydrated, so I just wanted to stick with water. My glass never got refilled.
The waitress brought out bread, which was tasty. No complaints there. Then, the stuffed mushrooms. They were okay. Not very flavorful, but the balsamic on the greens helped. As soon as I was done with the mushrooms, my main course came out. I was a little confused because it didnt have any soubise sauce that I could see, but I went ahead and started eating because the waitress wasnt around anywhere and I was starving. As I took a bite of the potatoes, I was pretty disappointed because there was not nearly enough of any seasoning. I had to salt them pretty well and I hate to salt food. Then, I took a bite of steak and was severely disappointed. It also did not have much, if any, seasoning. Im all for letting the flavor of the meat shine through, but you at least have to salt it to enhance the flavors of the meat and to make it enjoyable to eat. I kept looking for onions of any kind when I finally found a clump of sautéed onions on the bottom of the steak. No sauce, just onions. I was so let down. I didnt really see my server again until I asked for the check. When she brought the check, I asked her if the chef was the normal person in the kitchen or if maybe someone else was having to cook. Or maybe my 5:30 reservation was too early for them to have finished the soubise sauce and so he just put the onions on there instead. Both of those explanations would have been understandable and I could have just chalked it up to a bad night. However, the server said it was the normal chef and when she asked him about it, he said it was probably just thicker than I was used to. I laughed out loud because I am also a chef and I know what a soubise sauce is. There was none on my plate, and nothing was properly seasoned.
Im not saying any of this to piss people off, but it was not worth what I paid to have to season my own food.
I will say, the seasonal, local mushrooms were really good. This was the most mid meal I’ve had in quite some time that was supposed to be nice. I didnt ask for a discount or anything because I dont believe in doing that. They didn’t offer, either, which is totally fine. Hopefully, it was just a bad night.

I have now eaten here twice. Throughout our several day vacation in Petoskey I hoped to eat in several restaurants around town. This one tops the rest. The menu is limited, but appears to change night-to-night. The particular strength is the complexity of the sauces. The standard salad is superior to those from other restaurants. The signature dish, the whitefish, is superb.

Inside very very loud. Had reserved a patio table but were seated inside. Food and service good and this was a Saturday evening. Thought it was strange that we had to wait 5 minutes for our exact time of reservation to be seated, per the hostess, but another couple that came in with same reservation time was seated right away, and of course, outside on the patio??

So disappointed we spent almost 300.90 dollars last nite .3 out of the 4 dinners were cold . When you order a steak for 68.00 dollars .the damn thing should be hot . No taste the pork and beef dinners were both cold

Our taste buds are still singing!!! We were looking for a restaurant that would not limit our dining time and offered a varied menu. The whitefish appetizer is a must to kick off the meal. We enjoyed the fixed menu of whitefish served on a plank and sparerib ragu. The hot peach cobbler with ice cream was a great ending to the evening. Charming old hotel and courteous service. Hats off to the chef and staff
