Visited this restaurant during the Valentine’s Day weekend with my husband and I must say the food was delicious. I experienced their whole housemaid spring rolls, their chive patties and their vegetarian curry puffs, all of which were very delicious. I especially enjoyed their curry puffs, and the garnish that they have on the side is even good with it. For my main entree, I had the drunken noodles and I got it tie hot and it was with some mock duck. The mocked duck was delicious. My husband also got the peanut coffee. Hurry with mock duck and white rice on the side. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for some good Thai food in the union area. The service was okay. They could have used another server. As the only one server for the whole restaurant, which created a longer wait time. But again, the wait was worth it. Because the food was so efficient.

Good quality food, fresh ingredients, and wholesome flavors. Would highly recommend for vegetarians since they offer a vegan sauce to replace fish/oyster sauce.
Slightly pricey considering that most entrees are over $19 and the curries don’t include rice.

This is my first time back since the new people took over and OMG. This is the best Thai food in New Jersey, so amazingly good. Great to go for lunch Or dinner when you’re craving Thai food.

Great meal! I ordered the Larb, a lemon soda, the green one, and the peanut curry as my entrée. All level 3 spicy which was the perfect balance for me. The ingredients tasted fresh and everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Has moved to my go to local-ish Thai restaurant.

I started going here during this past summer as I craved Thai food since leaving Thailand. Everything there, including the sauces, are all made from scratch. Portions are generous and I just love all the appetizers, and especially the fried roti. The curry is amazing! I’m there at least 2-3 times a week since my initial visit. I met the chef and she’s a delight as well as her husband’s hospitality is bar none. If you’re on a budget, try the lunch menu. You won’t be disappointed. I’ve added a few pics. I tend to order a lot so I can use it for lunch for the work week.

We have been to That’s Thai now 3 times in last 4 months – so that does tell you that it’s a place you can visit more than once.
We like the simplicity of the place and the menu.
It has decent Veg and Meat options and food is quite flavorful and aplenty.
In our different visits / take away, We have tried Curry Puff (quite nice), Chicken Wings (regular like other places), Spicy Thai Basil Fried Rice (really nice), Drunken Noodle (really nice) and Green Thai curry (really nice and with a spicy kick, we ordered 4 out of 5 level Spice ask).
All in – every visit was worth the taste and price and we will visit again.

Just ok Thai food, overpriced for the value.

My wife and I visited That’s Thai Food for a dinner in Feb 2025. Thai cuisine is one of our favorites and we cook some dishes ourselves, so we have certain expectations. The food was just ok with basic presentation (see pics).

Fish cakes – ok, but a bit chewy. The portion was double the standard size – 8 pieces! Need to serve more sauce for so many fish cakes. Make the portion smaller and cheaper or offer two sizes.

Tom Kha soup – the menu lists a choice of 3 proteins and a few for extra charge. We were not asked what protein we wanted and we forgot to tell assuming a standard chicken. The soup came with shrimp! That would be extra $5 or $10 on top of $18 for just a soup. The problem wasn’t a price though but that I don’t eat seafood. The soup got replaced for the one with chicken. It tasted pretty good but different from the usual Tom Kha. Something was off. Maybe the lack of fish sauce as listed on the menu. Even the color wasn’t white. The soup lacked fresh basil on top, was overloaded with chicken, and was served warm rather than hot, so it became cold soon. It wasn’t spicy at all and there was no chili to add. The portion was also a double and we could hardly finish it. Just offer 2 sizes like most of other places so.

Red Curry with Chicken – we got the same dish, but one with pineapple and the other with bamboo shoots. Not sure why it can’t be a single dish with both. I asked to add bamboo shoots to my curry with pineapple and make it level 3 hot. Eggplant wasn’t available even for extra charge. Both curries came overloaded with chicken and thin bamboo shoots reducing the amount of curry sauce itself. They had no fresh basil and both were level 2 hot at most. The taste was ok, but not as colorful as it’s supposed to be. Maybe due to lack of fish sauce.

The service was almost non-existent. The restaurant was empty and the only person serving was always in the kitchen. We couldn’t ask for an extra chili, napkin, drink or anything. Nobody was there. I managed with lack of spiciness for the soup, but for curry I took it into my own hands, walked to the counter, found a serving stand and got us a small chili jar. Self-service 🙂 Ridiculous:)

Unfortunately, we can’t recommend this restaurant. With average food taste and almost no service the prices are quite high. I would rate the place 3-3.5 stars, but giving it a 4, so the owners have a better chance to improve.

Our first time here and I must say the service was very nice and quick. The food was good but here are my cons. We got the drunken noodles with mock duck which was excellent taste wise but not enough noodles which didn’t justify the price. The rice was good just a tad dry. The appetizers were excellent! The other thing I was so confused about was why they don’t serve rice with their curry’s and stir fry’s? I have NEVER been to a Thai restaurant that doesn’t offer white rice on the side. Very very interesting. The prices are higher than any other Thai restaurant I’ve been to as well.
