I decided to try this place while I was in the area, mainly because the photos of the pizzas looked great and the reviews were very positive. Maybe that set my expectations a bit too high.

Overall, the experience was good, but not impressive. The pizza itself was decent, with okay ingredients and solid flavor, but nothing that really stood out or felt particularly memorable. The atmosphere was very basic and didn’t add much to the overall experience.

It’s a good option if you’re nearby and looking for a simple pizza, but I was expecting something a bit more authentic and distinctive based on what I had seen online.

Amore Woodfire Pizza: Fire-Kissed Pies and Fantastic Wings!
If you’re searching for authentic, jaw-dropping pizza, look no further than Amore Woodfire Pizza. This place doesn’t just serve pizza; it serves a true culinary experience, transporting you straight to the heart of Italy with every bite.
The star of the show is, without a doubt, the crust. Cooked in their traditional woodfire oven, the dough emerges with that perfect, slightly chewy texture and beautiful “leoparding”—those signature blistered, charred spots that signify true Neapolitan perfection. It’s light, airy, and strong enough to hold even the heartiest toppings.
We ordered the Meatlovers Pizza and the Chicken Wings Buffalo, and both were outstanding. The Meatlovers was a generous, balanced creation—loaded with flavorful, high-quality meats but never feeling greasy or heavy, thanks to that light, airy woodfire crust. It manages to satisfy those classic cravings while still maintaining an artisan touch. The sides are just as impressive; the Buffalo Wings had the ideal balance of heat and tang, with a perfectly crisp skin and juicy interior. They make for a fantastic appetizer or accompaniment to the main event.
Beyond the incredible food, the atmosphere at Amore is warm and inviting. The rustic decor, combined with the subtle scent of burning oak and fresh dough, creates a cozy, lively ambiance. The service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic about the food, which made the whole evening delightful.
Amore Woodfire Pizza has instantly become our new favorite spot. Whether you’re a purist who loves a classic pie or someone looking for bold, satisfying flavors (and amazing wings!), you owe it to yourself to experience the magic of their woodfire oven. Five stars!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant, a place I truly love. The staff always greets you with such kindness, making every visit feel special. The food is incredible-full of flavor, quality, and care. I have to say, the pizza is the best I’ve tasted since Italy! Every dish feels like it’s made with love. If I could, I’d give this place 100 stars.

Best Italian restaurant! Pizza was so good as much as pesto pasta and Alfredo pasta were good! It was great to stop by after visiting the San Francisco zoo.

That’s Amore has live music. Well, I got here at 8pm on a Wednesday as the musicians were packing up. Today’s order was a caprese $18, combo $21 pizzas and a creamy pesto spaghetti $13. The food was ready in 15 minutes. The caprese pizza didn’t have a strong pesto taste. Rather, it had a zingy tomato flavor. It was a good contrast with the mozzarella cheese. As for the combo pizza, this was OK too. My preference is a more thick dough. The creamy pesto spaghetti was good. Great job everyone at That’s Amore.

Sure! Here’s a positive review for That’s Amore in San Francisco:

That’s Amore is a hidden gem in San Francisco! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The pizza is absolutely incredible—perfectly crispy crust, fresh ingredients, and just the right balance of flavors. Whether you go for a classic Margherita or one of their creative specialty pies, you won’t be disappointed. The service is friendly and attentive, and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers. If you’re a pizza lover, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

I remember back in the day when this place used to be a coffee shop before transitioning to a pizza spot. I have drove past here many times, but did not get a chance to try it out either because it was fully packed or parking was not the best. Finally the day has come, and I ordered through DoorDash. Their menu is simple, it consists of their specialty pizzas, you can build you own pizza, salads, starters, drinks and much more. All of their goods come from a wood fired oven, which gives it a touch of balanced smokiness on the crust. Everything is made to order which is a plus for me since I am a very patient person and I never mind the wait. When I received my order, the pizza was still hot like it has just came out the oven and all the topping held on pretty good. Lastly, this place is a plus in the neighborhood, because there are not many pizza/italian options within the area. I highly recommend this place to all pizza enthusiasts, anyone looking to try something new or if you want a laid back spot to enjoy some food and drinks. I definitely will be back to tryout the other delicious options they have to offer.

Friday afternoon service was great. Food came out quick, pizza was phenomenal, and so was the grain bowl. I was so impressed by first impression that I went the next day (Saturday) for lunch again. I was the only one in there, so I knew I would get served quick. The only thing I ordered that was different this time was I added chicken to my grain bowl. It was so bad…dry, and seemed old. I asked them to remake and they literally brought me the exact same thing and had the audacity to tell me it was freshly made. So they lied to me. For this reason alone, I will not be coming back. There is no reason why on a Saturday afternoon, you can’t take 8 minutes to fire up a fresh piece of chicken and serve it fresh (not dry like it was microwaved). So sad and very disappointing.

Ordered on door dash the meat lovers. Reminds me of Tony’s New Yorker just without ricotta. Maybe I’ll try it as a add-on next time. It’s pretty good overall but a bit on the saltier side and I think the pizza is quite small for the price. I’ll try to dine in next time!

Update: Add Ricotta to the Meat Lovers and it’s the best pie out there! I just wish it was bigger

This is a neighborhood gem! Of course their wood fired pizza is at the top of the list. It is thin crust and covered with fresh ingredients. It’s also the perfect size to share with a friend along with any of their delicious salads. The interior is bright and well designed. There are tvs to watch those mid day soccer games. The owner and staff are friendly and inviting. Highly recommended………
