I recently tried thatsmashshack and would say overall it was… alright. The fries were really good, honestly one of the best parts of the meal. They reminded me a lot of the Animal Fries from In-N-Out Burger, which was a nice surprise. The burgers were messy in a good way, but the flavor itself felt a little bland. This might not be completely on the restaurant, though, since I ordered online for pickup and the food may not have been as fresh by the time I got it. It’s not a place I see myself going out of my way for at the moment, but I’m open to giving them another try, this time dining in to get the full experience. So for now, I’d call this a neutral review. Solid fries, decent burgers, just not quite memorable… yet.

TO DIE FOR! My cousins and I love to try out different food places. Last Thursday, we chose to eat at this food truck. Honestly, THEE BEST DECISION ever. The burgers were top tier and the fries were amazing. Fresh, flavorful, hot! Will always be coming back.

4.2/5 for the smash burger. It was good, maybe one of the best in Bakersfield. I wish I could add some lettuce and tomatoes though but it was definitely worth a try.

Tried the smashed burger with double meat, and honestly, it was underwhelming. The flavor was average, the burger was super greasy, and the bun was soggy by the time I got halfway through. For $34 for two meals during happy hour, it felt overpriced.
Service wasn’t great either—the guy at the front didn’t even open the window to take my order. It felt rushed and unprofessional.
The one saving grace? The fries. They were homemade and the sauce was chef’s kiss.
On a positive note, the food truck park where it’s located is actually a cool little spot—nice vibe and worth checking out for other options.
But overall, this particular truck missed the mark. I probably won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend it.

Actual smash burgers with lacey crispy edges and caramelized onions. The sauce is great and goes well with the burgers and fries. Food comes out quick and hot. Easily the best smash burgers in Bakersfield

Service was great! Lemonade was delicious! Beat homemade lemonade. Burgers are great!
Fries tasted off because of the oil, it tasted almost sour. Similar to when you burnt oil too many times and an aftertaste that’s not very pleasant. I would give it 5 stars if the fries didn’t have a old burnt oil after taste.

Large portions (had already eaten a ton of fries in the photot), first time a double smash burger has filled me up to where I could not eat anymore. Flavor was on point with both the fries and the burger. Burger had sauce but was not falling apart and sliding around. Combo came with drinks so we had to try to strawberry lemonade and it was delicious (had fresh smashed strawberries in it). 10/10 will be back!

I had the Yeolmu Naengmyeon (cold noodles with young radish kimchi) at Arirang Food Truck yesterday, and it tasted just like the one my mother used to make. They also gave a free iced coffee as a service, which was a nice touch. Highly recommend!
