Saw some reviews of this place and knew we had to come here . We ordered the Navajo taco and chicken fried steak. Not only were the prices extremely reasonable , the serving sizes were huge and the dishes were absolutely delicious. There’s a very homey feel here and the staff treat you very well. I felt very welcomed here and enjoyed my experience. The waitresses are very sweet and make you feel at home. If I lived here i would come back every day. That Place in Dolores beats every restaurant of this kind that I’ve visited back home in the North East.5/5 please stop by here!

Stopped here to have lunch while passing through. Service was great, food was excellent. Each one of us at the table of 4 hard something different and each one of enjoyed the meal we ordered. Like other reviews stated, you get a lot of food. The pies looked yummy and we were to full to enjoy it while there, but we each took a slice home with us! Definitely will return to THAT PLACE next time I am in Dolores.

I have been eating here for about a year. Service with Fran and Chris [owner] is always good. They have had trouble with finding help but the try to keep the food good and serving generous. It was suggested that we eat at “That Place In Delores” because they had good Navajo Tacos and the fry bread was really good. Well the fry bread was the only thing good! The Navajo Taco was boring, no flavor to the beans and the meat was hamburger just thrown on top.
My husband had a Chicken Fried Steak it was horrible he rated it as a 2 of ten until later that evening when his stomach felt up set and then he gave it a -2. The potatoes tasted like they were from a mix. He asked for a roll to go with his dinner and it was so hard you could not saw through it.
Atmosphere is terrible, nothing homey. You are in a great big noisy room.
Service was ok. Once we had our food and the hard as rocks roll, the waitress never came back except to see if we wanted desert. It took for ever to get our check.
If you need to find a place to eat in Delores…don’t do this one!

Have been in Dolores for few months and have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner many times. Food is always great and with large serving. You’ll not go away hunger. Service in prompt and wonderful. Staff will call you by first name once you’ve been in couple times. Highly recommend Chef Carl’s cooking.

Not sure about this other lady’s post but my friends and family all love this place. The navajo tacos and chicken fried steak are some of the best things here. Service is great and very fast who could ask for more. I’ve been here many times and absolutely love it. Go on in and try it’s definitely worth coming back. Daily homemade soups are also excellent.

We had the pork green chili stew with frybread and chicken fried steak for lunch. The chicken fried steak had a superb coating, was cooked perfectly and came with a generous portion of real mashed potatoes covered with a savory gravy. The chili stew came with plenty of pork in the mix and the frybread was delightful. We topped off lunch with apple and apple/pecan pie ala mode and they were great, too. The pie is made in-house by a truly competent chef.
