We stumbled upon this gem while exploring the beautiful Poipu area and what a fantastic find it was! Like many, we were a little hesitant—how would an Indian restaurant in Hawaii measure up to the authentic flavors we know and love? I am thrilled to say it not only measured up, it completely exceeded our expectations.
The food was absolutely excellent. Every dish we ordered was flavorful, aromatic, and clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. From the perfectly seasoned biryani to the rich and creamy butter chicken, it was a true culinary delight.
But the real star of the show was the spice level. We asked for our dishes to be made “Indian hot,” and the chef delivered perfectly! They did not hold back, and it was exactly the authentic, fiery kick we were hoping for. It’s so rare to find a restaurant outside of India that truly understands and respects that request. Major kudos to the chef!
The service was wonderful, and the staff was very welcoming and attentive. After a long day in the sun at Poipu Beach, this was the perfect, satisfying meal we craved.
If you’re in Kauai and yearning for incredible, authentic Indian food—don’t hesitate for a second. This place is a must-visit! We will definitely be back on our next trip to the island.

Only Desi restaurant in South Kauai. Small restaurant with few dishes to select. Garlic nan was made out of pita! Mango Lassi was not good. Lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Biryani were ok.

Bomb chicken tikka masala & garlic naan. If you’re an eater like my husband you will need 2 orders, I was perfectly full with one! Delicious. We convinced our family that had never had Indian food to branch out and they LOVED it, saying they wanted to being the naan back on the plane home Really nice family that runs this place with recipes from the owner’s grandfather. These recipes have definitely passed the test of time.

They bring the food and cutlery to the table.
For the amount we paid, the portion size of the appetizer and gravy was small. Even the naan came in tiny pieces. Later, as we were walking towards the car parking, we saw a window and realized they use Nanak naan; they just heat, cut, and serve them.
If you want a side of rice, order it when placing your first order. While eating, we realized we needed extra rice and asked for two servings. They said they didn’t have any, but we were shocked to see them serving rice to other tables

The naan is incredible fresh and hot. It’s so soft you’ll at least need one each or you’ll regret it. The butter chicken was unbelievable and a chicken tikka masala was amazing as well. The mango drink is very creamy and refreshing.

Update: the dishes no longer come with rice or raita. You have to pay extra for those now.
Butter chicken and chicken Tikka masala are great. Butter shrimp was good too. Add Baby naan, good meal. Very kind people with great service and aloha. Lamb biryani was great and comes with raita. Coconut chicken was just ok.

Kauai, are you aware what a gem you have here? Back home in Austin, my wife and I eat a lot of Indian food. However this spot has the absolute best food we’ve had. Not fair! You have the Island, the ocean views and this spot! You must try this place if you love Indian food.
