It was early on a Sunday in October. The town was calm, dreamy, still pretty much asleep except for a few of us that seemed to take turns arriving at That French Place like clockwork one by one to make the difficult decision of which crepe or pastry to choose. Greeted by a lovely woman, who talked me through the sweet and savory choices and I settled on the cinnamon roll and then went back in again for a breakfast crepe to save for later on the comfy bus ride to Traverse City. I was so happy That French Place was open before the bus came to the station. It was the perfect ending to a short story stay in Charlevoix. Seek it out when you go even if you are taking the ferry or the coach bus; stop in and meet lovely people and taste French pastries and crepes.

We went in January and had no wait on a Saturday! Adorable decor. Delicious crepes (we had the sweet strawberry crepe and the savory bacon egg and swiss crepe, soo good!) and well-made croissants. The lattes were balanced and featured house-made syrups. Pairs nicely with a visit to the book store next door

Stopped in for coffee and pastries during our stay. We were greeted at the door by an employee who helped organize the line. We found that all employees were patient and helpful and we appreciated their efforts to direct foot traffic to make the ordering experience smooth. The coffee was average, but the pastries were phenomenal. Didn’t get a chance to try the crepes but will definitely come by during our next visit because they looked delicious.

Was visiting, always like to check out the Bakeries. was looking at the selection then BAM , on top of the counter, a box “Ted Lasso” biscuits. We had just finished the series and just had to try. They will not disappoint, will probably have to visit again. Shortly!! The chocolate chip cookie and the Kouign Amann was also very good. If your in the area, it’s a must visit.

Winter hours are in effect. Closes at 1pm. Just incase you want to drive 5hrs envisioning the first bite of the best creep youll ever eat just to be 8 minutes late. My fault. Great place. Friendly staff. Long hungry ride home lololol.

Extremely friendly and helpful when we admitted it was our first time there. Crepes were great and appreciated the tearaway sleeve to keep all the fixings in. Macaroons were fantastic, too!

Best quiche we’ve ever tasted. And the cinnamon roll was divine. Also had the bacon egg and Swiss crepe and it was equally amazing. Definitely worth a stop here. The owners are very friendly and the food is perfect.
