The food at That BBQ Joint is always above par and their BBQ sauce is unique and flavorful. I have gotten most things on the menu and would definitely tell anyone looking for a great place for ribs, pulled pork, brisket and other staples of a bbq place That BBQ Joint should be top of your list.

We are so lucky to have the Madison’s Best Bbq Joint. The owners are preparing food with love and skill. You will taste it and you will be back. I promise. These plates are:#1 succulent smoked chicken breast, one bone, four Creole battered fried shrimp and greens. #2 Leg, thigh and wing smoked and sauced to perfection; three of Madison’s greatest tender ribs; greens and one fried creole shrimp.

While their meat is likely all fantastic, I was enormously disappointed that they were sold out of the brisket on my first visit here (along with a few other items). Opted for the pulled pork, ridiculously good but I would have loved a side to come with it. Very hipster, they sort of run your nose in it too, but welcome to Willy St. Bottom line, get here early if you want the full range of menu items.

Great food, wonderful service. Even when they are packed to the gills I’ve never had short or rude interactions with anyone who works there. Brisket sandwich is out of this world. I’ve also had the ribs and rib tips without complaint. Also the mac and cheese ball is deliciously sinful (with their mustard – there are no words). I really cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Love this place. I get a 5 lb. tray of pulled pork with their regular sauce for special events. I’ve lived all over the South and this is some good stuff. Great friendly service and a nice new location. Best BBQ sauce (their regular) I’ve ever had…and I’ve visited all 50 states in my quest for best sauce.

Pretty disappointed, given all of the 5-star reviews this place has earned. The brisket was thinly-sliced and didn’t have a lot of flavor. The pulled pork was good – tender and flavorful – but somewhat unremarkable. Sides were likewise average – good, but not great.

A friend and I stopped in last weekend, unknowingly right at the time when they close for an hour (2:30-3:30 I think?). Someone mentioned it to us as we walked in, but the guy at the counter (maybe the owner or manager) said to stay and he’d be happy to make something for us and we could hang out. Really nice! AND THE FOOD. After living in Memphis for a year, I didn’t hope to find any decent BBQ this far north, but this was GOOD. I had the Italian Brisket sandwich and my friend had the pulled pork. I will go here again any chance I get!!!

This is easily the best BBQ place in Madison. The owners and staff are all wonderful, and we have yet to have a bad experience. My favorite items are the Creole chicken sandwich and the jalapeno hush puppies. My husband is from the South, & he swears by their BBQ and greens. If you can, save room for the pecan pie – it is worth every calorie. This is our must-have lunch every time we are in Madison. We always leave very full and very happy, and we recommend them to everyone we know.

It was very underwhelming for how “popular” it is. I ordered beef tips and my GF got the rib basket. Both cuts of meat tasted like they had been done for a while and we’re just dry. Also, the person who took our order seemed frustrated that we were trying to order things that were out of supply.we weren’t quite aware and it was our first visit and probably our last. I will say, the portion for the beef tips was good and the greens were very fresh tasting. But that’s about all the positive I have for the place
