Cosy and intimate setting, chef and waiting staff are always pleasant.
The food is consistently delicious and full of flavour. This is a favourite spot of mine and I’m so glad I discovered it a few months ago.
Prices are very reasonable and there are great vegan choices too!
I will continue to come back here – I only wish they were open on other evenings apart from Fridays 🙂

Thao Thao is a true gift to Margates restaurant scene. Albeit a small venue the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I had the caramelised pork belly and my partner the pork belly banh mi. We both thought the meal was beautiful and packed full of flavour. Left feeling satiated and looking forward to returning!

Wr had an amazing lunch. Very friendly and familiar, they made our lunch very special. The food was absolutely delicious. Very small place, and menu.
Next time we are around that area we will definitely go back.

A really brilliant first visit, met and tended to by wonderful and warm staff ahead of a delicious, beautifully crafted meal that felt, creative, clean and healthy yet filling. The space was really considered and I can’t wait to go back, be it for a lunch or formal dinner. Don’t walk past for years like I did.

Great cooking, not at all run-of-the mill Vietnamese but lots of imagination and detail. Small menu but done with care. The pho was exceptional (we picked up a takeaway)

The best Vietnamese food I’ve tried so far in UK. Absolutely loved the pork banh mi, would 100% recommend for people looking for a quick bite. Look forward to come back again

Visited this great little restaurant for lunch. Fantastic authentic viatnemese food. Didn’t catch the name of the lady who served us but she was very welcoming, friendly and helpful and took time to interact and talk with everyone. The Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk is a must try! Wish we lived nearer as would definately go back.

Visited on a damp Friday evening with a former work pal relatively recently moved down from London at her suggestion. We were the first to arrive and were warmly welcomed. We were offered the menu, which was exceptionally short. This is generally a harbinger of good things. As it is a sign of a place that knows what it offers is very good. So why offer anything less than that?
In that respect, we weren’t disappointed the food was fresh crisp and tasty. The broths showed signs of time being spent on them.
There are interesting locally sourced beers, and I had a tea that hit the spot
The only downside was the portion sizes. I’m a big guy with a large appetite. She is at the other end of the spectrum, shall we say?
Apart from that small caveat, I would definitely recommend Thao Thao. It is a bijou well designed space made for intimate dining or small enough to hold a catered private event for a rugby team sized group of friends.
