I was greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was exceptional, with friendly and attentive staff who were happy to guide me through the menu.
Now, onto the food -the Biriyani was fragrant and fluffy, with perfectly cooked basmati rice and tender pieces of meat. The Fish Mango Curry was a revelation – the combination of flaky fish, tangy mango, and aromatic spices was pure magic.
But the stars of the show were the Masala Fries and Butter Chicken. The crispy, spiced fries were addictive, and the Butter Chicken was so rich and creamy.
Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or new to Indian cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to taste the flavors of Kerala in the south suburbs!
I can’t wait to try more of their dishes and experience the warm hospitality once again.
The owners are young and enthusiastic chefs who want to treat you to their style of Indian Cuisine, and they do not disappoint. We met friends for late lunch, a good time to be able to sit and relax and enjoy. The food is hot, fresh, flavorful and if you order the side breads your experience will be even better.
For the longest time, we have mourned the complete lack of good Indian restaurants nearby. The closest decent one (in darkest Tinley) is still not offering dine-in.
We read about Thali on some local Facebook group, and we had to try it out. Fortunately, one family member’s mid-week birthday provided a handy excuse to try Thali out.
What a revelation! The owners are going out of their way to bring unique family recipes that are truly exceptional to their new venture. Gerald is responsible for developing the location, and Tobin makes the excellent masalas that make this restaurant unique.
To be fair, the menu is not overloaded with dishes from every corner of the subcontinent; that’s what allows them to focus on the truly special recipes they love.
Without going too much into detail (try it out for yourself!), I can confirm that portions aren’t huge (but we left absolutely STUFFED and with leftovers in tow), the flavors are bright and delicious, and you have to try everything you can!
Pricing is exceedingly reasonable for homemade, service was attentive and competent, and the atmosphere outshines the strip mall it is based in.
We have a new alternative to sushi or beef. And it’s terrific.
Thank you, Gerald and Tobin!
Some light Indian music playing in the background not overwhelming.
Both I and my wife both love the food we will definitely be coming back.
Must order the goat Curry
If you’re a fan of lamb, this is a must-try! The quality of the meat and expert preparation made this one of the best lamb dishes I’ve had in a while.
Would definitely order again!
