We tried the Thai fried rice with vegetables — it was very good! The Thai fried rice with shrimp and shumai was okay, but I probably wouldn’t order it with shrimp again. Overall, we’d definitely recommend this place for their Thai fried rice. It’s more of a pickup spot than a sit-down restaurant, but the food is worth it! The food packaging is great — love that they use paper boxes, which is really appreciated!

Ordered Basil stir fry beef, crispy fish, mango sticky rice and Thai tea. Very delicious and authentic Thai food. Best mango sticky rice I had in the area. Will definitely come back and will recommend this place to friends around.

A Flavor-Packed Experience at Thak Thai!
I had the pleasure of dining at Thak Thai recently, and it was hands down one of the best Thai food experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout.
We started with the spring rolls, which were light, crispy, and perfectly golden on the outside, with a flavorful veggie filling inside. The dipping sauce paired with it elevated the taste and gave a delicious first impression of what was to come.
For our mains, we went all out and tried the Red Curry, Green Curry, and Yellow Curry—and wow, each one was a standout in its own way. The Green Curry was rich and fragrant, with perfectly cooked vegetables like bell pepper, green bean, bamboo shoots, and eggplant. It had a wonderful depth of flavor that lingered beautifully after each bite.
The Red Curry had a bolder kick and came with green beans, zucchini, and bamboo shoots. It was hearty, aromatic, and had just the right amount of spice. The Yellow Curry, on the other hand, was creamy and slightly sweet with chunks of pineapple, potato, and carrot—it was comfort food in a bowl.
All the curries were served with jasmine rice, which was soft and fluffy, perfectly soaking up the flavorful sauces. You could really taste the authenticity in every dish—no shortcuts, just rich, traditional Thai flavor done right.
I’d highly recommend Thak Thai to anyone who appreciates true Thai cuisine. Whether you’re a curry lover or new to Thai food, this place will definitely impress you. Can’t wait to go back and try their Panang Curry next time!

I had Penang Curry and my wife had Tom Yum. Both were cooked well and the flavors were spot on. The only complaint is that both were very watered down. When I added rice, there was little flavor left. Again, the flavor was really good but it was watered down which was disappointing. Prices were expensive for watered down food. I understand things are expensive now, but you don’t get to charge more AND water down the food, one OR the other, Thak Thai chose both. May or may not be back, there are other Thai restaurants out there. Good luck.

The food is consistently good. There are a few little details that may be different than Thai restaurants that you are used to, like the chicken satay tastes a little different, but this is true about a lot of Thai restaurants. Restaurants. They only have two tables, however, so if you hope to eat there, you should be prepared to wait a while or just get takeout.

Small spot but well worth the stop. I tried the curry stir fry with shrimp and spiced hot. Great blend of flavor and spice. Rice was a bit dry but soaked in some curry sauce and it evened out.

Absolutely Amazing!! Hubby and I stopped by on a whim. Very impressed by the quality of the food and service. We ordered the Thai Fried Rice with chicken, it was delicious. We also ordered a few pieces of the Thai style crispy chicken paired with their rendition of yum yum sauce, it is the best I’ve had. I will be returning.

We are surprised at its 4.5 rating. This is basically a take out place with basic table and chairs.
Food was not bad, but not great either. We felt this place is overpriced.
For the quality of food and amount of food, I recommend to consider the (1) Hibachi buffet and grill across Kirkwood hiway or (2) Sakura in midway plaza. They are better value for your money.

Hole in the wall- restaurant looks like a takeout place. This is a very casual restaurant. The price is average for thai food (around $20 for an entree). We got the seafood pad thai, shrimp tom kha soup, and thai iced tea. The seafood pad thai was delicious and flavorful. Lots of shrimp in the shrimp tom kha soup! The thai iced tea was good. Best thai that we have had in delaware. P.S. the medium is pretty spicy.
