The food was good but the portions didn’t necessarily match the price. Very convenient in the phinney area. Nice people and service.
Probably wouldn’t come back because there are many good options in the area.

I’ve been wanting to go here for a long time just never made the time – but finally went and I was excited to try it and Thaiku did not disappoint. The food was fresh, fast, and delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely plan on going back!

Thaiku is a Thai restaurant on Phinney Ridge next to El Chupacabra. It used to be on Ballard Ave and was a noodle house in Fremont before that. This location can be tough to park at, especially on weekends since street parking is difficult in this area. They have some tables outside open during nice weather and over a dozen tables inside. The service is great, the staff are super friendly. Their menu isn’t massive like most other Thai food restaurants, and you can order directly from their website if you plan on picking it up. For takeout orders, the portion sizes are very small, making the price per size pretty bad. The panang curry was just a little over 1 cup with no vegetables in it, so it was actually more of a soup. The pad see ew had no vegetables in it and was only filled about 1/3 of the container, which was already a smaller container than almost all other Thai food restaurants in the area. The taste was fantastic, but the price should be half of that for the little food you get. Looking at pictures, it seems like you may get larger portions when dining in, which we might try in the future. We won’t order takeout again, though, unless the portions change. Other than that, it’s a solid place and would get 5 stars easily if not for overpriced/underportioned food.

Decent, but the portions are pretty small for what you pay and the food quality seems pretty standard. I ordered the pork belly curry which:
1. Is listed as spicy and there was 0 spice.
2. Had 3 slices of pork belly and relatively little curry which left my rice still fairly dry.

Best thai food in seattle! The flavors are unique and delicious. We came with a large group and each of the 7 dishes we got were excellent! Really good cocktails and mocktails as well. The patio is amazing for a sunny day but the inside is nice and cozy when its cold out.

Thaiku is always a favorite, for the past 6 years I have eaten here at least 1-2 times per month. The red curry with prawns, phad thai, sticky rice, betel leaf appetizer are all excellent. The sweetest service and you can really taste the quality of ingredients. Love this restaurant!!

Decent Thai food. Pad Thai was okay, well seasoned; spring roll was big portion but poorly executed imo
Atmosphere: feels authentic with interesting cocktail selections. Would love to try it out again for indoor dining

Thaiku is a great place to lift your mood on a rainy, dark night! The rice noodle soups are so flavorful, the atmosphere is lively and colorful, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Helped me forget the winter blahs for a while.

With less than an hour before closing: they sat us down, gave us drinks, served us food, and gave us dessert.
This place is phenomenal! Every drink and dish is full of flavor. The staff is kind and attentive. Totally would come back and try everything on the menu.

This restaurant needs to go back to the drawing board re: food allergies. We explicitly told them about the shrimp allergy & we’re given conflicting info from 3 different employees – one opinion from the waitress & the exact opposite from the food server. However, one of these employees was very convincing to us – stating she KNEW the peanut sauce was “vegan” so it wouldn’t have shrimp…& also stating she’s worked there a “long” time, told me I didn’t need to ask the mgr because she knew the answer, etc. After my family member began to eat the 3rd employee came over and told my family member to stop eating the peanut sauce because it DOES have shrimp in it. Wow. I let the mgr know this mix up could cost hospitalization & our vacation. They don’t know which foods are vegan & they don’t know which ones contain shrimp. We were comped a measly $13 appetizer. This is the first time, in 20 + years, that I’ve withheld a tip. I plan to get back in touch with them if a reaction occurs, but I won’t know immediately because it’s a delayed onset of full body hive reaction, with the potential for ongoing hives for a number of days, sometimes needing hospitalization). Fun times.
