Amazing restaurant and food. My partner and I ordered a the Punto feast and the portions were great and it was amazing to try a few of their recipes. The pad Thai was best I have ever had. Also lots of cocktail options. Would highly recommend and we cannot wait to go back!

Very good authentic Thai food at a reasonable price. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had the Pad Thai with Chicken and the Street Noodles with BBQ Pork; both were great. Definitely will visit again.

I came here genuinely wanting to enjoy this place. My friend and I love Thai food, and since Thaikun is a well-known chain, we assumed we were in for a solid meal. Spoiler: we were not. If this was considered a “good day,” I’d hate to see what an off day looks like.

The Pineapple King Prawn Fried Rice was nearly £17, and the most generous part of that dish was the price. A few tiny pineapple bits, uncooked prawns, and enough burnt pieces to make me question whether the pan was on fire or just giving up. When the strongest flavour in a fried rice is burnt bitterness, something might be wrong in that kitchen.

Then came the Mango Sticky Rice, which honestly deserved an award — for Best Example of How Not To Cook Sticky Rice. It was undercooked, hard, and had the texture of rice that decided halfway through cooking that it no longer wanted to be involved. We politely mentioned it to the manager, and instead of an apology or any kind of hospitality, the dish was taken away and returned with the exact same problem. At this point it felt less like dining and more like a social experiment.

When we brought it up again while paying, the manager delivered a performance I won’t forget. No apology, no willingness to listen. She poked the rice with a fork and said, “It’s soft in the centre.”
If your defence is “just eat the middle”, that’s basically admitting the dish failed — unless the new concept is Mango Sticky Rice With a Side of Instructions. I wasn’t even done speaking before she walked off. The food came out warm; the hospitality was ice-cold.

For the price, the food tasted closer to reheated frozen meals than fresh Thai cooking. There are family-run Thai restaurants that deliver 10× the flavour at half the price — and with actual warmth, both from the food and the people serving it. The staff here were trying their best, but the manager’s attitude wiped out any goodwill.

We still paid the 10% service charge — only because the waitress refunded the sticky rice, not because the service deserved it.

We had a fantastic experience at Thaikhun Southampton! The food was absolutely delicious with amazing flavours and generous portion sizes – every dish tasted fresh and authentic. The restaurant itself has such a vibrant and authentic atmosphere, making the whole dining experience even better. The staff were welcoming and attentive, which really added to the evening. We’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great Thai meal.

We had an amazing time here this afternoon! Our server Sawitee was very welcoming and even shared some recipe tips to try and replicate at home!! We had the Chicken Tamarind and the Legendary KSG with some lovely crispy noodles and the best soup which was to die for! Plenty of good food and drink options were available, we’ll definitely be returning!!

Nice place to hangout and for family get together.

Food was okay, the fried rice we ordered was only spicy with no other flavours which was a minus for us. love spiciness but need balanced flavours.

Mango sticky rice was delicious

Location is spot on and the ambience is beautiful.

An absolute 10/10 experience from start to finish. The food was incredible — full of flavour, beautifully presented, and clearly made with real care and authenticity. Every dish was spot on.

The service matched the food perfectly: warm, welcoming, and attentive without ever feeling rushed. You can really tell this place takes pride in what they do.

Easily one of the best Thai meals I’ve had. We’ll 100% be back and recommending it to everyone. Highly, highly recommend.

Visited today as a party of 17. Every single one of us loved it and said they loved their meal and that they would return!

I had the Legendary KSG – chicken in a creamy sauce with crispy noodles on top. It came with a little pot of chilli oil, which worked perfectly with the dish…although, be warned that it adds a lovely little hit of heat to begin with, but that heat builds as you eat! Use it with caution Absolutely delicious!

My 4 year old granddaughter had chicken and rice. Her portion size was very generous and seasoned perfectly for a small child (flavourful but not spicy!)

I would have taken photos, but was too eager to tuck in!

Staff were very polite, and attentive, even though they were so busy they literally didn’t stop moving the entire time we were there!

I 100% recommend you visit. I will certainly be returning!
