Food was great. It did take forever for the food to come out. I ordered the red curry. Host asked what kind of meat. I asked if they have seafood. She advised they did, shrimp and scallops. I went with that. Bill came. Come to find out, that it was an additional $11 charge for that. So, yeah, ate a $30 red curry…which is definitely more pricier than other Thai locations nearby. Other than that, no other complaints.

Visited Thai Zaps recently with friends for dinner and had a good overall experience. The ambiance is inviting, with a modern interior and nice views that create a relaxed dining vibe. We tried a mix of appetizers — chicken dumplings, crispy egg rolls, and fresh veg rolls — all of which were flavorful and well-presented.

For mains, we had the cashew stir-fry with chicken and shrimp (served with rice) and Pad Thai noodles. While everything tasted good, the main dishes could be improved slightly when compared to some other Thai spots in Overland Park.

We wrapped up the meal with banana fried ice cream, which was a fun and tasty dessert.

Would recommend for the atmosphere and appetizers — a solid choice for casual Thai dining with friends.

We were visiting from Wichita and had a craving for Thai food. After reading the glowing Google reviews, we decided to give this place a try—and we’re so glad we did!

From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome, promptly taking our order with friendly professionalism. The interior was a delightful surprise—filled with lush greenery that created a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

Our food arrived quickly, and we couldn’t have been more impressed. We ordered the Pad Mee and the Thai Fried Rice, both of which were cooked to perfection. The flavors were absolutely spot-on, with the spice level hitting just right. Each dish not only tasted authentic but also looked beautifully presented—reminiscent of the true essence of Thai cuisine.

The service throughout our meal was outstanding, and the attention to detail made our dining experience unforgettable. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and visit this gem. Highly recommend!

One of the best Thai food I had in recent times in Kansas area. I did try their wings which were good. Chicken spring rolls were good, chicken dumplings were good. The shrimp appetizer was good. We Chicken Satay was good and the Tom yum soup was delicious. We did try their Basil fried rice, Yellow curry fried rice, Thai Cashew stir fry and Pad Thai noodles. Everything tasted really good. The location was so good and the ambience was beautiful. The service was so good.

I was in the mood for a hole-in-the-wall mom n pop shop and saw this place serving authentic Thai food, so we decided to drive over and check it out. The restaurant had a good amount of customers for a Monday afternoon. They had lunch specials, but we were more interested in the signature dishes. The Thai street food menu is a must-try.

Tried Thai Zappz on a Sunday evening—overall, a good experience! The food was flavorful and well-prepared, and it seems to be a family-run spot with a cozy, casual vibe. When we first arrived, it wasn’t too busy, but it definitely picked up as the night went on. Service was okay—not bad, just a bit slow and minimal interaction. One thing to note: the prices listed on the menu didn’t match what we were ultimately charged, which was a bit confusing. Still, the quality of the food made up for it. Would return again, but hope they sort out the pricing inconsistencies.

Got the tiger cry fried rice and my girl got the jalapeño chicken stir fry. Both were absolutely delicious and deserving every bit of the 5 star review. At first we noticed the pricing seemed abit high but after eating the food we realized why. Also the owners responses to bad reviews is a breath of fresh air it’s nice to see someone clap back to miserable people whose only intent is to hurt a small buisness.

Overland Park’s best kept Thai secret! Outstanding food, super friendly service. This is out “go to” Thai place. Other good ones in the area, but this one is simply the best.

On my last visit, I had the soft spring rolls (chicken) -.came out absolutely fresh and perfect, and I had the Kee Mow (drunken noodles) for my main course. Noodles perfectly cooked, tons of wonderful veggies and chicken. I ordered “hot” for the spice level ( all dishes can be ordered all the way from absolutely mild, to fiery “Thai hot”). They’ll even bring extra “condiments” if you want to kick it up even more.

My wife loves their Thai Basil stir fry, and that’s another “bursting with flavor” favorite. For a frigid day, be sure to try the Khao Soi – best curry soup on the planet.

We went to lunch for restaurant week and I had the crab rangoon (excellent with lots of filling), vegetable tom khan soup ( creamy and delicious), and drunken noodles ( the noodles were amazingly good and pork was tender). The service was excellent as well. It has high ceiling so it was a little chilly. I would definitely come back. I have a whole other meal with the leftovers!

BLUF/SUMMARY: About time I wrote this review – best Thai food in Kansas City metro area and was our go-to place when we lived there. Authentic flavors overall, but esp with the street food options… something that I have never seen here in the US since we moved here over 30 years ago.

DETAILS: We moved away from the area almost 2 years now, and we severely miss this place. The food was the best, and we knew the owners well. I owe them this review not because we are biased, but because it was really good food.

Growing up in Bangkok, frequenting the street vendors for faves like Bami Heng and Bami Nam (street noodles dry or with soup) and saving/spending my allowance on it… that was pure nirvana. I never tasted anything like it in over 30 years, except for when I or my family made it from scratch. This is the first place that actually cooked it just like it was back then. They have the right amount of crispy garlic oil, and Moo Deng (bbq pork).

Other favorites – like Som Tam (papaya salad) are spot on with the balance of lime, fish sauce, and Thai bird chiles. The Tod Mun (fish cakes) are spot on – again, also pretty rare to find at Thai restaurants in general.

My wife loves the Khao Soi – curried noodles with crispy tofu. Their yellow curry is also very good, my son’s fave.

They even offer mango with sweet sticky rice that we get every so often.

To Pi (owner) and his staff, you probably know who is writing this review… but thank you for bringing me closer to my childhood memories and putting me right next to the noodle street vendor anxiously waiting to spend my $5 baht while I wiped the drool off my face. We miss you and will visit you again soon.
