Social Profile:

Thai What’Zap: Spicewood’s first (and only) authentic Thai food truck, family-run by Chef Bank since 2020. Locals aren’t just customers—they’re family. Everything is made fresh, from hand-squeezed tamarind Pad Thai to Cashew Chicken and stir-fries tossed nonstop in two woks by one very busy (but talented) chef—most places are too lazy to do this, but not us. Quick service? Check. Delicious food? Double check. Hidden among the trees on Highway 71 but worth finding. We’re not a full restaurant, so busy periods may take a few extra minutes—but the flavor (and sunset views) are worth it. Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe a little impressed by Chef Bank’s speed.

I’ve been coming here almost every Friday for the past 7 months specifically for the cashew chicken. Every week the dish comes out consistently delicious and as the week before. Don’t skip out on giving this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

It saddens me to write this review. For the past eight months, I have been a weekly customer, and my family and I genuinely enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, the unprofessionalism I witnessed warrants this unfavorable review.

On February 16, around lunchtime, my Son—who has been ordering from here since 2023 (he worked near by)—was craving Pad Thai. He asked if I wanted anything, which I declined, and he placed two orders: Thai Rice with shrimp and basil, and a Chicken Pad Thai, medium heat. The order initially seemed to be misunderstood, so I heard him politely correct the person on the phone several times. She recited the order back, and we believed everything was in order.

When he returned home, he discovered he had received two Thai Rice dishes. His girlfriend’s order was correct, but instead of the Chicken Pad Thai, his was Thai Rice with chicken.

He called the food truck to resolve the mistake but was immediately met with an unfriendly, accusatory tone. They refused to correct the error.

What’s most disappointing is that this did not just cost them one customer—it cost them two families. Between our family of four (4) and his girlfriend’s family of five (5), that represents roughly nine orders per week that will now go elsewhere.

Always the best Thai food in the Bee Cave, Briarcliff & Spicewood areas! They moved just a few meters from their original location but still have the most friendly service from Pat & her staff. Pad Thai had a generous amount of sauce & noodles were cooked perfectly.

Well I am nothing but disappointed. Ordering over the phone is a mistake. They always mess up your order. The food is phenomenal but the service breaks my heart. Once apon a time the food and prices where so legit. But now that everything cost so much a messed up order makes you mad as all heck. I was clear and in my order and you know what I wont be buying weekly from them anymore. I was a regular costumer but I feel so disappointed and frustrated that instead of putting a hole in my wall with my fist I wrote a review. Of which I never do. All I wanted was the chicken pad thai and I got rice……

We ordered beef pad thai (medium) and chicken red curry (medium). The food was delicious and the spice was actually hotter than described on the curry. We can handle our spice but I would get lighter spice next time on the curry. We ate our dinner on the roof of the Guernica Cafe building next door during a Sunday sunset. Would recommend.

Fiance and I were craving hot soup and this place hit the spot. Got small servings of both soups with tofu and a red curry with chicken. Absolutely amazing on a cold night and the wait was worth it since it’s cooked to order. Ate at one of the nearby tables and we both warmed up. The food truck park was a bit hard to find since we were visiting. Very happy to have found it. Absolute gem of a place.

Delicious every time!! It’s easy to call in your order and pick up. I like that they text you when your order is ready. All of their food is amazing!

Amazing cooked-to-order Thai food. The Pad Thai is outstanding — easily the best in Lakeway/Bee Cave.

I got pork and tofu basil fried rice with cream cheese rolls and my buddy had beef pad thai. All the flavors were on point and all the meats were juicy and tender. Basil fried rice had just the right amount of spice and pad thai was not over sauced like some other places. The service was grate everything was made hot and fresh as you wait. Next time I’m in the area I will be back to try the pad see ew or one of the other grate looking dishes…

Thai What Zap is one of my favorite places in Spicewood and a weekly staple (I would eat here every day if I could)! The food is always fresh and in my opinion the pad Thai is the best you can find in the entire Bee Cave/Lakeway area. You also can’t go wrong with the meat egg rolls, they are chefs kiss perfection. The owners are always extremely kind and professional. 10/10 recommend
