First things first, the atmosphere was great. The food was delicious with authentic Thai flavours, full of aroma and perfectly balanced spices. Every dish was fresh and well-presented. The pork skewers were my favourite, layered with meat and fat, juicy, tender, and full of flavour. The sauces and sides complemented the dishes really well. Even though it was busy, the service was fast and the staff were very kind and attentive. Overall, it’s a must-go place in the city for anyone who loves good Thai food.

️ THE STANDOUT DISHES
Shrimp Tom Yum Soup for 2 — ⭐⭐⭐⭐
the big prawn has yummy roe . The soup is watery but a good balance between sourness and spicy. Generous white mushrooms.
Pork mince ️ basil w rice & — ⭐⭐⭐⭐
strong basil flavor (basil lover excited) deep fried egg was overcooked, yolk was hard
❌Chicken Pad Thai – ⭐
♦️The sweetness is way overpowering the other flavors in the dish. Diabetes warning. Not even coming with lemon.
️ THE VIBE
▫️ Lively music and cool retro-style decor. Great for photos with friends!

‍ SERVICE
▫️ Average but efficient. Quickly seated and food arrived in about 10 mins.

THE BOTTOM LINE
▫️Price Point: 3 people $115. Decent price
▫️Final Verdict: Not a top-tier Thai spot, but a solid choice for a quick, casual hangout
▫️Return factor: 6/10. Decent but not a destination

This place looks so cool, and feels like you are in a different country. You can’t book and there was a queue when I went for a late lunch on a Sunday, but I actually got a table pretty quick. I had to say all the foods were great! I had fried fish, papaya salad, tom yum soup, red curry, and crispy pork stir fry. They all were amazing!!! My fave would be the fried fish, it was so crispy just like the one back home in Asia and the sauce was sooo nice. Also crispy pork stir fry was soo yummy. Tried their yoghurt soda and it was the best yoghurt drink I ever had. I was just soo happy with everything, and even their desserts picture at the entrance looked so nice but I didnt get to try. This place is definitely in my must come back list!

REVIEW:
My favourite at Thai Town Melbourne was the soft shell crab! Crispy and came with a sweet sauce. This was a great entree to start our meal!

The standout for the meals was the portion.
It’s generous and we were definitely full afterwards.

However, I wasn’t a fan of the prawn in the jumbo king prawn pad thai. The prawn was overcooked, so it had a dry, ashy texture.
Would not get this again.

We arrived at 5:45pm to no line. However, once we left at 7.00pm, there was a long line out the door!

FYI there is a:
1/ -5% discount for cash payment
2/ +1.5% surcharge for card payments
3/ +10% surcharge on sundays
4/ +15% surcharge on public holidays

Authentic Thai flavours that teleport you straight to Bangkok @thaitownqv
Stepped into @thaitownqv and honestly felt like I was in the heart of Bangkok! From the vibrant décor to the bustling vibe — it’s a full sensory trip to Thailand.

The steamed whole barramundi was the star of the table — fresh, tender, and drenched in a zesty, garlicky sauce that hit every flavour note. The massaman beef curry was rich, aromatic, and melt-in-your-mouth tender — comfort food done right.

Their Tom Yum fried rice packed with generous seafood was the perfect mix of spicy, tangy, and umami. And if you love something warm and hearty, the Thai beef noodle soup was pure comfort in a bowl.

To finish, the assorted Thai dessert platter is a must-try — sweet, colourful, and totally Insta-worthy.

Paired with butterfly pea lemon soda and Thai iced lemon tea, both super refreshing and vibrant — total summer vibes!

Excellent service, friendly staff and electric atmosphere, this is where you will be wanting to hangout next at, with your friends and family @thaitownqv

The fried spicy wings were really outstanding but the pad see ew was really bad -super greasy and just not tasty at all. Won’t go back. They also added on 10% to eat there on Sunday, which we didn’t like.

If you haven’t experienced Thai Town in Melbourne yet, you have to do it soon! It’s like stepping into a different country within your own backyard.

Lots and lots of delicious Thai cuisine options, both sweet and savory. Plenty of staff are available on hand to take your order throughout the business. Definitely pay them a visit.

The food was absolutely delicious — authentic, full of flavour, and truly satisfying. The place runs like a well-oiled machine with a lively, buzzing atmosphere, which justifies the 1-hour table limit and the weekend surcharge. We’d happily come back.

It’s my second time visiting, and overall, a good experience again. The food was tasty, and the portion sizes are quite generous for the price. The menu has plenty of options, and I love that they also have some Thai desserts they’re definitely worth trying!

The staff was friendly, though there’s a bit of room for improvement in service. We didn’t have a reservation but managed to walk in with about a 20-minute wait, which wasn’t bad.

The place can get a little loud inside, but you can still have a decent conversation. Perfect spot if you’re looking to enjoy a nice meal or drink, then head out without the fuss.
