Tai Town Cafe is a revelation for anyone who loves bold, flavorful food. Located in Rapid City and Geneseo, Illinois, this Tai spot turned my view of Tai cuisine on its head. I’m a Midwesterner who craves spice, and I found their dishes to deliver warmth, depth, and balance in every bite. The flavors are bright and distinct, with each component playing its part without overpowering the others. The hospitality matches the food—friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. If you’re anywhere near the Quad Cities, do yourself a favor and give Tai Town Cafe a try in Rapid City or Geneseo. It’s a game changer, and you’ll be glad you did.

So glad we found Thai Town! Hands down some of the best Asian food we’ve ever had. Everything tastes homemade and fresh. We tried the sampler platter and I’m already craving it again just thinking about it! The General Tso’s chicken was amazing, and my wife loved her glass noodle dish with chicken and shrimp (I forgot the name but it was delicious!). The staff was super friendly, the portions were generous, and the whole place just has a great vibe. We’ll definitely be regulars!

I’m really happy to see a Thai restaurant in town and I hope this business thrives in Geneseo. I ordered take-out for dinner this past Thursday which included chicken red curry, chicken pad see ew and spring rolls. The order was ready in a timely manner and pick up was easy.
The red curry flavors were on point with a good amount of vegetables and the medium spice was as expected for thai spice levels! If you’re not used to spice, get mild or no spice. The curry broth was separating a bit from the emulsion but overall it didn’t take away from the dish and I would definitely order this dish again.
The pad see ew could use some serious improvement. This dish was not enjoyable. There was no sauce or flavor, the noodles were atypically thin and pale… just not hitting the mark at all and I would not recommend it at this time.
The spring rolls were cooked nicely with an excellent fresh, crisp! The filling unfortunately tasted like it was just filled with a coleslaw mix without the sauce. I think a little improvement on the filling ingredients could bring these springs rolls up to par.
Overall, I sincerely hope this business can use this feedback for some improvements and I look forward to its future success. Thank you for coming to town!

Excellent Thai food, great menu, and great service. They offer some of the best dishes in the area and offer a great portion size. They are very accommodating to special requests. Beautiful renovations to the building as well. The whole place just brings such a beautiful experience to your meal.

What should have been a good dining experience was not. I took my daughter out for lunch as it was her birthday. We had eaten here before and my daughter enjoyed the vegetarian options. The server was not friendly at all. In addition to an appetizer, I ordered the peppered beef and my daughter ordered the mango fried rice without egg. When our entrees were delivered, my daughter’s entree was filled with chicken. She said that she didn’t order chicken and the server said it came with chicken. My daughter said that the menu does not list chicken or any other meat. She pointed it out to the server on the menu. The server said if she didn’t want chicken she should have said no chicken. What??? Why would you say no chicken when chicken wasn’t listed as an ingredient in the dish? The server did not try to make the situation better and walked away from the table. I had to order and pay for another entree so my daughter could eat. By choice, I waited to eat my entree until my daughter’s entree arrived. It was obviously cold by this time. When I went to pay another person was at the register. When she asked if everything was okay I said no and explained the situation to her. She did apologize and offered fried ice cream to my daughter since it was her birthday. She did admit that the mango rice did not say chicken on the menu. Even on the online order form it does not include chicken and states that chicken can be added for an additional cost. It should be noted that I was charged $16.00 for the chicken mango rice, not $18.00. The food was good, but the attitude, expense of $60.00 and dining experience was not.

Such a nice addition to Geneseo. We went on opening night and it was so worth the wait. The appetizer sampler was delicious. The Pad Woon Sen had so much flavor. The Thai fried rice was good too. Can’t wait to go back and try more.
Update! We’ve been back multiple times. Tonight we had takeout and I tried the Thai Chicken Noodle and the hubs had General Tso’s Chicken. It was so good? Will be back again soon.

I’ve had their Tai food at the other location and it’s impressive. No difference here in Geneseo. Everything tasted very fresh. The Crab Rangoon’s were delicious. They tasted homemade. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. You won’t be disappointed.

Their food was not very special in fact I thought it was very lackluster! They charge way too much for their food! They need to come back to reality drop some of their prices and give you better portions along with a better quality of food! I would suggest that you stay away from here and don’t eat here at all, spend your money at a better restaurant.

Authentic Thai cuisine in downtown Geneseo. Homemade Crab Rangoon and spring rolls are delicious, various soups, curries, and noodle dishes along with fried rice are served. Tea selection is excellent, perfect for hot or cold days.
