I like this restaurant. Some of the best thai in Bradenton. But I always get green curry. But mom had cashew chicken, and wife had been thread noodles. Everyone liked it.

Every time I come here I wonder if it’s going to be just as great as the last time. It is better every time. Students get a 15% discount, so it is super affordable to eat here. Great options for me as a vegetarian…tofu, miso soup, crispy eggplant, noodles, etc…Thai Spice, I feel, is far better than the other Thai restaurants in Sarasota…it can feel like a ghost town,but who cares! Looking at Jane D’s review below, I have to agree on some points but I give it at least one more star than her. I have tried the Thai place on Cortez and Thai Spice and like the food here at Thai Spice way more than the other. I didn’t find the lunch price that unreasonable, given the quality of the food. The Pad Thai was perfect, generous, exactly the right level of spicy (hot for me) and accompanied by a consistently delicious soup and piping hot egg roll. The owner/chef is not only to be complimented for his cooking prowess but for his artistic interpretation as well. The presentation was as good as any fancy, “five star” place I have ever been to at several times the price.
I’m gonna have to conclude that those who reviewed this negatively must have had a different owner or chef and encourage you to try this one without apprehension.
I am certain you will enjoy it as much as I do, which I now include on my weekly restaurant rotation.
My “$” review below is for LUNCH prices. Dinner gets “$$” but is still reasonable.

*update 2016* there are better sushi places. Their fish is stale compared to Sam Jung Oh or Sushi Hanna. Was kind of dirty looking and super dead. Nice lighting, average priced sushi for decent quality fish. The interior has a nice Thai motif to it. The service was excellent and attentative.

Thai Spice is a wonderful Thai and sushi restaurant. Prices are very reasonable, the restaurant is spacious and has a nice ambiance, staff are attentive and friendly. The Thai food is absolutely delicious — everything I’ve ordered off the menu has been excellent.

Really good food, we had pad woon sen which was very well spiced and the massaman curry medium was perfect for me with a really good sauce. Both were priced very well. The restaurant looks very nice and had good decor. Our server jazz was wonderful.

This is one of those typical Thai places that you’ve never heard of, tucked away in a shopping plaza you’ve never been to, that will serve you a dish you’ll never believe. 5 stars here is slightly biased because I love places like these. I’ve had better Thai, but it’s a solid price, always relaxed, and never disappoints.
