We never tried this place other than there Thai tea while waiting in line for bbq but would always see it when we would go to Korean bbq next door
Finally tried it and ordered through Uber Eats and the food was really good! They added the aluminum foil to keep it warm and it survived the hour it took to get to my house! The people are so kind they noticed we were new customers and added a free thai drink! which we highly recommend there it’s so good
Highly recommend the seafood soup also!

Odd smell when you come in which may be from the fish tank. Bathroom was not very clean.
Now, the food. The drunken noodles is one of the best dishes I have ever been served. We both ordered teriyaki chicken w extra fried rice. That’s was good. Maybe very good.

I’ve been coming to Thai Original Barbecue for years, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently excellent, with a great selection of authentic dishes. The flavors are always spot-on, and the service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious Thai cuisine!

We came on a Wednesday afternoon and it was empty and we took advantage of the lunch special to get the bbq chicken and beef sage, both coming with fried rice. The service was good, our server was polite and offered everything we needed. We even got little salads, which I don’t think came with the lunch deal. Very simple, but it’s the thought that counts. The interior is not the most modern, but it’s not run-down or dirty, just a bit old. They even have the fish tank, a sign of authenticity.
The sate was very good. Outside was charred with a bit of crisp while the inside was juicy and it was all flavorful. The accompanying fried rice had ketchup mixed in, which is why it’s red? I like ketchup rice , but it was just unexpected.

I grew up in Hollywood and I’ve been eating that food for over 35 years but I’ve never found a spot where they actually makes the authentic Thai food. I have eaten and many other thai food places. but nothing compares to this one. I know a couple of bigger ones one in Normandie, the other one on Sunset but there’s so many of them out of all those in Hollywood this one is the best !
I remember going there as a teenager with my uncle getting the same plate plus the seven seas seafood soup, which is delicious so now I live in San Gabriel Valley and there is this other place on Covina I’m pretty sure they brought the same cooks from the previous place because it is the exact same flavor so I ask and they actually are the same owners or where are the same owners, but the recipes remain the same I wanted to share this because I was in Hollywood which I haven’t been for a couple years and I remember I need to eat something special and great so my cravings took me down there Western and Maplewood across the street from 7-Eleven so there this is the real flavor and I’m proud to say that they earned this review I only review the best and the worst Mr. machine

I got fried tofu. It was soo bad, no seasoning, I at least expect salt, I mean it’s TOFU, IT HAS NO FLAVOR!! The dipping sauce tasted like syrup. I’ve gotten fried tofu other places and it’s divine with a sprinkle of salt as it comes out the fryer. My friend got other dishes, we totaled $85 of disapponitment for 4 dishes. A few bites and I threw the rest of my “no-taste-fu” away. It’s not cheap either. The staff was pleasant but, no I won’t be back.

Definitely one of my favorite places to go. I love the sea food soup, the Sate, the combination chow mein. The staff is super friendly and always respectful. I have been coming to this spot for more than 10 years. I highly recommend it to all my friends.
