Had a hankering for something spicy and found this place out and about. It didn’t disappoint. The spring rolls were some of the best I’ve had in a long time. First time at a new Thai restaurant, I always try the green curry. It was a hearty bowl that was a little sooner than I usually have it but delicious regardless. I could have probably handled the 4 out 5 level of spice but sent with the 3, which had a nice warmth to it. There’s a semi private dining area and a big bar. The place is decorated festively. Definitely going back to try more of the menu.

This was our first visit, but our kids both recommended it. I just wish we had tried it sooner! It’s a lovely little space, clean and cozy. I loved the quiet music that was playing, very soothing after a long hard day. Service was quick and friendly. My husband did have to wait for a little bit for his main dish after they brought mine with the appetizer. Minor issue, but I do wish they’d held mine until his was ready. I had the chicken Pad Thai and it was really good! It’s not spicy, if that’s what you’re looking for. I like it either way. Great flavor and beautifully plated. My husband got the sweet and sour chicken. It was not the bright red sauce we’re used to seeing! It was a lovely, rich tangy sauce just slightly sweet. Nice sized chunks of deep fried chicken with peppers and white rice on the side. The egg rolls were good as well, hot and crispy with a flaky crust. We will for sure be back!

This was my first Thai restaurant experience in America and it felt Authentic. The food was delicious. Even the appetizer was carefully cooked to perfection. The prices were absolutely fair and I will happily return.

Stopped in for lunch and tried the Shrimp Pad Kee Mao. I went with a heat level 4 out of 5, and they don’t mess around. The spice is legit. Overall, a solid spot in West Allis and worth checking out if you haven’t been.

As a heavy consumer of Thai food, I’ve always enjoyed coming to this restaurant. Today was my third time back. Food quality is always consistent and delicious. Pad Thai and Tom Yum are always great choices. Don’t forget the magi sticky rice desert.

Our favorite Thai restaurant was closed this evening (Vientiane Noodle Shop) so we looked for a Thai place we hadn’t been to before and found Thai Orchid. Nice looking place, had a small somewhat private room that was reserved for a party, a karaoke section, a bar, and a hallway with what looked like digital video games. I ordered Red Curry and my boyfriend had Fried Rice, both to-go. We liked our dishes, they were fine. Mine was a bit on the sweet side, so if you like that flavoring, you’ll be ok with Red Curry. I like a more savory curry, so I’d give this 3 stars. I did like that they noted “Fish Sauce” in the Papaya Salad on the menu, so I avoided that (because I’m vegan). The Fried Rice dish was also ok. We ordered ahead and the food was ready for pickup when we arrived. Parking was not a problem at 6 p.m. on a weeknight, the lot was not full. My search for authentic Haw Mok Gai (Tofu) continues and the closest thing I’ve found to it is at Vientiane Noodle Shop, the dish called Kang Pet. If anyone knows where this dish is located, please let me know. It used to be at Bangkok Orchid and I read in another review here that Thai Orchid’s chef is rumored to have been trained by Thai Joe or his wife, owners of Bangkok Orchid. If that’s so, I’ll contact them and see if they can make Haw Mok Gai, with Tofu instead. I miss that dish so much!

Thai food is usually hit or miss. I feel the food here hits all the notes. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy, the pork rice was tasty and the Satay was very good. The server was very polite and responsive. The atmosphere near the table was very nice. There are gaming machines in the back by the bar which took away a little from the atmosphere, but then again I am surs they her their use. The bar was well stocked, and well maintained. The menu gives a lot of choices, which is nice. Overall, it is worth a try.

The review should be about 3.5 stars, but you can’t do that unfortunately. It’s a very nice place inside. The food came out pretty fast and was hot and fresh. We had the shrimp tempura for an appetizer, then had the papaya salad, Drunken noodles, and Pad Thai for the entrees. Portion sizes are generous and priced accordingly. The drunken noodles were definitely the better of the two options we choose for entrees. The papaya salad and Pad Thai both lacked flavor compared to other Thai restaurants I have been to. I will go back to try the Pho and a few other items and hopefully have better results flavor wise.

Went there with my son and daughter in law because it is one of their favorite Thai restaurants and I absolutely understand why. YUMMY EVERYTHING!
Appetizers: Crabmeat rangoon, fried pork eggrolls, fresh shrimp rolls, quail, fried calamari papaya salad- got #3 spicy- hold on to your water pitcher!! Delicious!
Soup for the 5 of us: Tom Yum
Main Course: Volcano Chicken, Beef Pad See Ew , Nam Kow, Crispy Pork Belly
My favorite main course was Crispy Pork Belly. Loved the crunch.
Dessert: Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango. It was a great end to a delicious meal.
We will be back to do karaoke!! Service was super!
Sorry, folks. We were so hungry I forgot to take pics.

We came to Thai Orchid during its soft opening period. The staff was very nice to us. It is a small, family owned business.
The food was good. We had the Crab Rangoon and the Pad Thai. The Rangoon probably needed a little more filling and the Pad Thai could have used some more sauce. But overall the flavors were quite good!
They have plenty of seating inside and on the patio. They are only a few blocks from State Fair Grounds.
Later in the evening they have a good bar and karaoke space.
Update: we came back later and had some of their curry as well as the drunken noodles. The food was even better than before!
