Great private restaurant. Food is awesome, large sized portions, very fair pricing. Wonton soup was simply amazing. Vietnamese coffee is also great and definitely worth it. Staff is super friendly. Overall one of the best Thai , Asian restaurants in Winnipeg, hands down.

Saw this last minute & we were so glad we did! What a great place, it was quick, easy to order. Staff was friendly, the food was so flavourful! We got the teriyaki beef with a spicy level of 6/10. I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for something a little different and flavourful especially because there is little to no places to eat out in Ile-des chenes. Perfect spot! Thanks again.

I have eaten here many times and always great service and large portions. Just a note, if you’re a bubble tea aficionado; unfortunately base is a powder and not fresh fruit. Still good. Quaint restaurant with about 10 tables. Great addition to Ile des Chenes and needed! Prices are reasonable.

First time here, very good food. Had the Thai curry chicken. Ordered medium-sized quite spicy but very flavorful. Good selection of dishes to choose from. Even have desert and tea as well. Service was very friendly, and they make sure you are enjoying your meals. Price of food is fair- not expensive for an excellent experience. I will be back. Support independent small business!

I live in Blumenort, so I don’t normally find myself stopping in Ile Des Chênes.
I have Doctor’s appointments in Winnipeg and my Husband works in Grande Pointe, So I always end up driving past at some point.
When Thai on 59 opened I thought, “I really need to try that place!” But never had the time to stop.
Well today was the day! Lol A lady who lives in Ile Des Chênes purchased an item from me and I was going to Winnipeg anyways and told her I would deliver the item to her, on my way back.
I took my truck for a wash at Co-Op after, and realized I had some time left, so I stopped at Thai on 59 and I’m happy I did!
The restaurant was clean, organized with a calming atmosphere and nicely decorated. Staff was friendly, nice and courteous.
I ordered “The Thai-way 59 platter” and “The Deluxe Vermicelli” with pork and chicken to take home; Service was fast.
I LOVE Thai, Vietnames, Japanese, Filipino and Chinese food. I could live off of it. I lived in Japan when I was a baby/toddler and grew up on sushi, tempura and tons of soups (suimono, butajiru, miso, etc)
I didn’t care much for Sushi and I can’t stomach it now … But tempura, rice, soups, udon, yakisoba.. I want all of it! Lol
My Husband doesn’t really eat Asian cuisine, aside from Chinese, but he sure helped himself to my tempura; pretty much ate it all
I hope I have time in the near future to stop in for a second feast

Still going strong with 5 starts. My Husband and I were in the area and were headed home for dinner. I said, “Since we’re close, let’s go to Thai on 59.”
Our server was great, food was fresh and hot as can be.
We ordered the must have Thai-way 59 platter to share. I order the Thai curry vermicelli with chicken and a Thai iced coffee. My Husband ordered cashew stir-fry with noodles and beef. With a peach bubble tea.
Be prepared to wait a little longer as the food is prepared fresh and made to order.

Had an incredible meal at Thai on 59! The staff were warm and attentive, and every dish was full of flavor—from the creamy crab puffs and spicy calamari to the coconut rice and fragrant pho. The clean, cozy spot feels like a hidden gem, and I’m already planning my next visit. Highly recommend!

Don’t miss out on this hidden gem! Hands down the most authentic Thai food i’ve had outside of Thailand! They really nailed it. I’ve been maybe 6 times so far and its been perfection each and every time. Huge shout out to the owner, cooks and staff, you really have something special here! You guys really need to check this place out if you are in the mood, easily worth the drive from Winnipeg. Would highly recommend the Papaya Salad (with a good heat level) and the Thai Chicken wings. To the owner, keep up the great work! Once my gut can handle more spice, me and my wallet are certain to be back 🙂
