This is sad. The food was actually pretty good, but there is no service. The guy at the counter was shocked that I was dining in. He told me to order on the app or come to the counter.
I waited nearly 30 min for my food, then to be called back to the counter to pick it up, on a tray, and in a styrofoam container, with plastic forks.
He then proceeded to point to where a thermos of water was. Never once checked on me. I cleared my own table.
Weirdest restaurant experience ever.

FYI. Pad Thai was good. Mango sticky rice was more like Mango Sticky Hard rice… I think it was old.

Curry and drunken noodles were pretty good. Puffed curry was tasty. Sticky rice was brick of dense rice so overcooked it had disintegrated into chewy gelatin. There were no discernable grains of rice left. Wouldn’t recommend this dessert.

This used to be my go to restaurant for a long time. Recently I noticed that the quality of food isn’t the same. I recently ordered Green curry (too salty). One other time I ordered Laab Chicken Salad (too plain). Today I thought, let me give them one more time to get it right, so I ordered Drunken Noodles w/Shrimp. I understand that shrimp are expensive so I didn’t expect much. I received 5 shrimps and what seemed like a pound of somewhat dry flat noodles with not much sauce. I did not enjoy my food so in the trash the noodles went. Le Thai and Tiki Garden are now my favorite so far. They offered me money back but I didn’t accept it the second time, I wanted good food instead, but didn’t get it.

I used to go to this restaurant 2-4X per week. This was one of the gems of the area surrounding Fort Belvoir. They used to have a lunch special where you got a salad with awesome peanut sauce, curry, and drink for under 10$. And their curries were amazing. Green/Yellow/Red/Panang were great… Meat perfectly cooked, amazing sauce.
Then the pandemic happened
The original owners (older husband and wife) left/retired around 2020, and while some things are the same (decor has been unchanged since about 2006), but the food quality has been downhill and hasnt found a bottom yet.
I was super excited to find out that you can eat in the restaurant again after 5+ years, so I went to see the place. Well, the lunch specials are gone, but you can now pay ~15-18$ for a slightly larger portion of the curry from before the pandemic, but oh man the quality is not there. The curries had some of the flavor of before, but they were really soupy (too watered down?) while the meat was overcooked and not good.
To make matters worse, you CAN eat inside the resturant, but it is more like a higher end fast food restaurant. I know porcelin dishes are not critical for food, but serving everything in cans and to-go plasticware makes the ambiance a little lacking.
Things change, and food service is tough post pandemic. Just stinks that I know how good it USED to be.

Throughly enjoyed the meal. It was enough for two people. The staff was polite, friendly and took care of me with my allergies. Restaurant was cozy but too dark for my liking.

Great Thai food wonderful service and been coming here for quite some time and this is the BEST Thai tea by far. Service was quick the food came within a 10 minute duration. Definitely a great spot for anyone who wants a friendly environment for Thai food.

The food here is EXCELLENT. I don’t remember ever having better Thai food in my life than at Thai Nakorn. The curry puffs are fire. I’ll definitely be back. They don’t do dine in right now. You can order ahead and pick up, order delivery, or order through a third-party app. I highly recommend Thai Nakorn.

The food is great!!! Highly recommend this place. The prices are good and the amount of meat they put in the dishes is really good especially compared to other restaurants. We ate the Cilantro Chicken, Papaya Salad, Curry Puffs, and Pad Phet Beef, All dishes taste great and will be back for sure! Our first time there and we met 1 of the owners (family own Brother and Sister) And he was super nice and since our first time there he hook me up with Free Thai iced tea which taste super delicious! HIGHLY RECOMMEND A++++
