Food was excellent. Friendly and charming Workers were dressed in authentic Thai clothing. Decor was also Thai influenced. It was the real deal! Yum

My wife and I have been going to Thai Lemongrass almost every week for at least 5 years. We spend $65 every week and order the same thing. I don’t think I’ll ever be back. I don’t usually make 1 star reviews, but this place has truly earned it. I’m not sure if there is new ownership or what, but the changes they have made since March 1st are reprehensible. Prices were increased 35% and quality has gone way down. They’ve changed their curry recipes. The last straw for me was when the server tried to enter her own tip on their new POS system. She tried to get me to tap quickly, thinking I wouldn’t notice. This behavior will drive regulars away quickly. I hope they go out of business soon.

This was a super disappointing experience as we have been coming here for years. We had take out of green curry, rice, vegetables, pad Thai and garlic prawns for a family group of five. It came to $175! I brought it home only to discover with a phone call from the restaurant that they had not included the prawns. I asked them to take it off the overall cost and they said they couldn’t do that and would have to pick them up. I returned after eating half my meal with my family which was no where near the quality and quantity of the past several years. In fact it was like someone poured coconut milk in a measly amount of chicken and called it curry. Very few veggies in one order and loaded with tofu. When I got to the restaurant I spoke to the manager and asked for him to refund the prawns and said he couldn’t and instead he doubled my order. Meanwhile I could hear other people complaining about wait times and food missing in the restaurant. To top it off the waiters laughed when I told them they forgot the prawns! I got home and we opened the $30 order of prawns which comprised of a slop of bean sprouts with only 4 prawns!! They also overcharged us as they are listed as $22. Never going back again. This place will be closed in a month at this rate!

Doesn’t quite deserve 5 stars but deserves more than 4. The food is as good as any Thai food I’ve had but we did get one dish when I ordered mild for takeout and I got hot. I called in to try to get a mild dish as a replacement (a couple days later) and the staff member that answered the phone was extremely unhelpful so I had to come in. Think he was the same person that made the mistake for the takeout that was too hot. Anyway ended up getting 25% off our next order. Feel like he just needs training as he seemed new and inexperienced. Found it more enjoyable when we ate in for 5 of us the first time. Anyway, I would definitely eat here again. Just to be aware of the fact that certain dishes aren’t available in mild.

I am not a complainer, but feel I have to speak up about our very disappointing evening as a warning to others who may be thinking of going to Thai Lemongrass.
This restaurant, which we have frequented for several years as one of our favourite places to dine out, has changed hands since we last visited. This was immediately obvious by the very poor service, the cold tea and luke-warm food that we were served, and the quality of the food. In particular, thinly sliced gristly and fatty lamb which I could not eat, accompanied by large chunks of undercooked potato, all luke-warm. An accompanying serving of cold rice was an additional $5+ charge. The waiter brought us tea while we perused the menu. When we mentioned it was cold, he brought us more cold tea and said he had now plugged in the water heater and would bring us more tea again when the water was hot!
When we ordered curry, mild, we were told it would cost extra because the cook would have to add more coconut milk! When we expressed our amazement at this, he said, let me check and came back with the manager/owner who said no, we wouldn’t have to pay more for mild curry.
And so on it went. Cold, but tasty, hors d’oevres and luke-warm curries.
Additionally, the restaurant was so cold that we had to keep our coats on. When we asked if they could turn the heat up, the waiter brought a small electric heater, but couldn’t find anywhere nearby our table to plug it in. Consequently, he plugged it in on the far side of the room.
When our meals arrived, one of the orders was missing. As the waiter was starting to walk away, we asked him where our son’s meal was? Looking surprised, the waiter said, “What did he order? Oh, I will go and check what happened.” My husband and I shared our luke-warm meals and cold rice with our son and the waiter eventually informed us that our son’s meal would be there soon. In the meantime, my husband had finished eating and was so cold that he went out to the car to warm up. Our son‘s meal arrived, and we asked for it to be packed up to take home.
I asked to speak to the manager/owner as I thought he should know of the poor service and barely warm meal that we had just been served and to show him the majority of the gristly & tough lamb meat remaining in my bowl that I had found to be inedible. I suggested that I should not have to pay for this inedible meal to which he responded that I should not expect to eat for free and the most he could deduct was 10%! At this point, my 6’ 4” son stood up from the table and the manager/owner said that he would, after all, dedect the price of my meal from the bill.
This fiasco (a comedy of errors!) cost us $84+ . A high price for a very disappointing evening!
In the meantime, other diners arrived and sat at a table closely to ours. They also kept their coats on and decided that they would order to take out and would “nuke“ their food at home so they could have a hot meal!
Needless to say, we will not be going back to Thai Lemongrass!

The restaurant is so beautiful. Valuable dine out environment that is so rare to find nowadays. Lots of appreciation from me and family to their chef. With our low salt a slow sauce request, the whole family were able to have a lovely meal. With that requirement, we can taste all the ingredients its original flavour. It turns out that every bite is a proof that all the ingredients were very fresh!

We ordered the Red Curry with pork, fried rice with pineapple (chicken), and the prawn fried rice, all gluten-free.

The red curry is a ‘medium’ spiciness, which means I was drinking a lot of water because it is fairly hot (but delicious).

The prawns themselves were okay, but my wife needed to add a bit of my curry sauce to her fried rice because it wasn’t very flavourful. 1 star taken off because of that and the veggies weren’t very high quality. The fried rice with pineapple had a good flavour.

Portions were good, service was friendly, and we liked the atmosphere (light piano jazz in the background).

First time there. Stained covers on cheap chairs. My spring rolls were previously frozen. Still cold in the middle. One was piping hot. Clearly different batches.
I ordered crispy red snapper. I couldn’t even see it through the onions and peppers covered in their sauce. This fish is the highlight. It should be on top.It wasnt crispy, it was covered in sauce. They asked me how hot do i want it. I said med. It tasted more like sweet and sour sauce. Not spicy at all. And the fish was no longer crispy if it ever was. They advertise 6 professional chefs. Its Obvious they are not.
Not once did anyone ask me how my food was or refill any of our drinks. Waiter didnt speak much English. Don’t waste your time. Our group of six was charged 18 percent gratuity, even though we paid seperate. Nothing worth a tip.

The food was terrible. Bland, tasteless over cooked Thai food. I have been here so many times in the past but recently moved to the area and was so excited to be close to what used to be a hidden gem. The food is NO longer tasty/authentic – you’d be better off buying no-name microwaved Thai food than spending time and money ordering here. I wrote a diplomatic email inquiring about ownership or quality control changes expressing my disappointment after I had ordered 6 dishes for pick up and I received no response. My conclusion is they have the same quality of customer service as they do for their food quality. Pretty disappointing as it used to be very good and there isn’t much in the area to choose from.

Good service, very friendly. Waited a bit long for the bill because there was another table taking the orders. She’s doing her best 🙂
Foods definitely can be improved
1. Grapow Seafood with 4 pieces of prawns, 4 pieces of squid, 2 scallops(which is not so fresh tbh) and 2 mussels, $25, taste like oyster sauce with garlic stir fried and basil, not the best what I excepted for that price.
2. Chef’s special Massamon Lamb Curry, $25 as well. however, I can hardly tell the thin slices of meats are lamb by taste, over marinated. The curry tastes good, could be less salty, and if the potatoes could be cut in smaller sizes will absorb more flavor from the curry sauce.
3. Coconut rice, I can barely smell coconut from it, maybe try add some coconut oil while cooking the rice, definitely brings more aroma to it.
Been this restaurant 8 yrs ago, it was great, and much busier. Best wish to the restaurant.
