HORRIBLE. I want a refund and to give this food back immediately. Ordered less than an hour ago and I’m highly disappointed and now even hungrier. This is the worse attempt at Thai food I have ever had in my life. And I’m not exaggerating the least bit. Read the reviews, not feeling well and ordered a basil roll and Tom Yum soup. The basil roll had shrimp portions instead of a whole shrimp and was 90% lettuce, over powering any basil that might’ve been in 1 of the 2 rolls. It was overwhelming. The soup was like trash water. I could’ve boiled water with seasoned salt and it wouldve taste better than this. This isn’t broth. The mushrooms and wedge of tomato, like did you even try? And the smell of it is atrocious. Tried to move past the appearance and the taste is worse, not even worth a spoon full. It’s overly salty and missed the mark by a long shot of Tom Yum. The lemongrass didn’t smell and it usually stands out in the soup. I ordered from their site and didn’t catch that this was a food hub place. I want my money back. The soup doesn’t even smell edible or safe to eat.

It must really depend on who’s cooking and what you order because these reviews seem all over the place. The tom kah gai soup was basically just coconut milk with something acidic in it and completely separated after sitting for a few minutes. The drunken noodles were decent in flavor but all stuck together. They gave us the wrong protein in our spring rolls. But the WORST part was the wait. The time kept changing, and what we got shouldn’t have taken the 40 minutes it did. Not a great Saturday for Thai in Decatur.

The food is absolutely delicious here. We ordered beef and chicken thai fried rice and pork. Found a new favorite spot. We ordered in because we were craving thai. We have never ordered thai food, we always go to the restaurant for thai. So happy we took a chance here. Everything was tasty. Will definitely order again. Check them out, you won’t regret it.

Such a gem of a small take-out place! This is our third time ordering from Thai In Decatur. I love their Pad Thai noodle, Tom Yum soup (creamy style) and Cashew Nut with fried chicken was super delicious. Generous portion and the food is always fresh. The quality and flavor make it one of our favorite local spots for take-out. Highly recommend!

The location given for Thai in Decatur is not really a restaurant but a food hub where online orders from different places can be picked up.

The location of this food hub is very cumbersome because you basically have to back out of it, not only to get out but also to make room for people who arrived ahead of you and whom you are blocking.

But to Thai in Decatur. The texted updates were late in coming. The initial email update gave a time of 6:18 pm for food to be ready. I didn’t get my food til 6:42 pm. Had to complain at the food hub first. Phone inquiry to Thai of Decatur didn’t work as nobody picked up the phone at all.

I will be trying the food in just a minute and then follow up.

The food was overall okay. We had ordered two appetizers and one entree.
The spring rolls were certainly the tiniest I’ve ever seen (they look bigger in the pic, but were only as long as my little finger but bigger in diameter). Flavor was okay. They came with a sweet and sour sauce which tasted like liquid mold. I doubt this is “Thai in Decatur”s fault. I’ve had moldy flavored sweet and sour sauce from various other restaurants before. If one uses a store bought sauce (as I suspect), one should at least do a taste test.
The Chicken Satay was pretty standard. The peanut sauce with it not as tasty as others I’ve had.

The pork Prik King was tasty. No complaints there.

My overall frustration is with the long wait and lack of promised updates. And also with the fact that I got a food hub where I expected a restaurant. This was not obvious from the website.

This was my 1st order and my 1st impression was subpar.

The food hub itself seemed very busy and highly “automated”. During the complaint process, I spotted a very long list of participating places.

I had a serious craving for Thai food, especially basil rolls, but this place was a huge disappointment. The basil rolls were bland and uninspired, and the “Three Flavor Chicken” was downright awful. It tasted like old, leftover chicken soaked in soy sauce—not even close to fresh. As for the vegetables, calling them a joke would be generous: one lonely piece of broccoli and a handful of chopped peppers tossed in for appearance. This place operates out of one of those ghost kitchen setups that are popping up everywhere, and it shows. If freshness and quality matter to you, look elsewhere. I won’t be going back.

Being in Decatur for work for several days, my goal was to eat local and diverse. Thai food has a special place in my heart – the first restaurant I managed was developed and ran by an acclaimed Thai chef. His food for me is like home. Thai in Decatur comes pretty close to that. My only comments are really because of my training. The Tom Yum soup has amazing flavor, and the right flavor. My only suggestion is that there should be Oyster mushrooms instead of regular button mushrooms. However, that could be a supply-chain thing. The shrimp were quality and not overcooked which is important. The flavors of the drunken noodle were also well proportioned. I choose beef, but next time I’d opt for no meat. The beef was not marinated in the traditional blend of soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, ginger, water and sugar. However, the dish was still fantastic and 4.8 stars wasn’t an option just for that one little hiccup.

It is a bit pricey. I’d make the cheese rolls a 4pc not a 3pc – that would help. But with soup and an appetizer an entre is sufficient to share.

I would also add that the “Decatur Food Hub” is an interesting concept and the idea wasn’t obvious on the website. The building does not say “Thai in Decatur” so it took a mi ute to find being that I’m not from Georgia.

The dessert was a surprise complementary addition!

We had the pineapple fried rice (added carrots) and khao soi. Highly recommend. Food was very good. Whatever sauce came with the khao soi, we also added to the fried rice. 10/10, wonderful. Located inside the decatur food hub so no access to the restaurant, picked up food from locker & ate at home.
