I’ve only had the curry here so far, but it is very delicious they can accommodate vegan and vegetarian diets. The food tastes authentic and home cooked, just like my mom and aunties back home. Definitely come here for some good lunch options as well!

Very quick and delicious Thai / Asian food. The level of spice I would recommend minimal unless you like spicy. Even 2-3 out of 5 was very spicy for me, and I don’t mind a little spice. But it was spicy. Choose 0 or 1 for spice level if unless you like spice!
I’ve had the drunken noodle and pad Thai. And spring rolls. Everything was very good.

We had an awesome experience tasting Thai cuisine here. We ordered the Chicken Panang Curry and Tom Yum soup. Both had unique taste. They came in cute little plastic sealed food boxes for easy carryout. The Tom yum soup had the lemon leaves in it which added to the zing of the soup in every spoon! It was brilliant as a starter. Just be careful about the spice level, they have 1 to 5, five being the highest. The Panang curry was easily the best Thai food I ever had. It had coconut milk/cream and so it helped to alleviate the spice from the Tom yum soup. Definitely recommended, I would go over there to taste their food again!

Love, loooovee Thai Express! My food is always so good, I usually get the chili fried rice with shrimp which you can choose the spice of so it can be spicy or not really spicy. I usually get mild bc I’m a lightweight. I also like the DELICIOUS Thai BBQ ribs. The owner/manager is also the nicest The space is pretty small and sometimes smells funny (the Columbia special ), but never any major complaints. I’m always so happy to get a meal from here.

Never heard of the place until a college friend recommended it. Once inside, the it was a lively atmosphere with a bar or table seating option. The wait on the few was very reasonable (about 10 minutes) with portion sizes fair to the price.
Pictured is the spicy seafood stir fry with a heat level of 5, rice, and a side of spring rolls. Would recommend a level 2 or 3 for enjoyment purposes. No other words to comment except that this would definitely a restaurant to place of on the bucket list in Columbia, MO.

One of the best Thai restaurants in Columbia! Came here around 2:30PM it was very chill. Servers were very courteous and attentive, food was amazing. I had ordered the Red Curry Fried Rice with pork and my husband ordered the Drunken Noodles with chicken. Both were amazing, we ended up sharing both plates and just eating both simultaneously. Their Thai Tea is amazing and their Green Thai Tea is so delicious! The location doesn’t have a designated parking lot so you will have to park off ninth street or off elm and take a short walk, but it is definitely worth it.

It’s never fun to write a negative review, and I understand that these small restaurants are trying to get by, but I feel like people need to have a more realistic review about this Thai place that they might be getting from the other reviews. Granted, getting authentic Thai food in Mid-MO is not an easy task, but this was not anywhere close.
My wife is more-or-less vegetarian, so we had the pineapple fried rice, and the tofu bowl. The fried rice tasted burnt, though it didn’t look burnt. I’m not sure what they cooked wrong, but it was a distinct burnt taste (not smokey, burnt). The cashew nuts were perhaps a little overdone, and maybe that was it. The veggies were clearly frozen peas and carrots (the little bits that you get out of a bag), some pineapple that appeared canned, and some fresh chopped green onions. The rice was short grain white, and still a little stiff. I could have made this dish at home without a recipe. It was pretty enough, but barely palatable.
The tofu bowl (I can’t recall the full name of this bowl) was a large bowl not very full of plain white rice, with some fresh broccoli and carrots, and large chunks of deep-fried tofu. Nothing else, but there was a small plastic container of sweet sauce that we poured on top. The tofu was unseasoned (seriously, it was just oil and tofu, very hot, but very bland). I cook tofu at home, which I marinate and season; there’s no reason to have it so bland. The sauce you could buy anywhere.
Just being honest here folks, this was not a Thai food experience. My baseline for going out to eat is food that is better than I can make for myself (and I’m no chef). This didn’t meet that baseline.
The atmosphere there clearly said, “we’re a to-go place”. Sticky table (ours was, at least), serve your own water, and clear your own dishes when you’re done. Music was some kind of off-brand rap with mild swearing, but at least it wasn’t terribly loud. Otherwise, it was fairly clean and the one person we saw was nice.

I had an incredible dining experience at Thai Express! The food was absolutely delicious, with vibrant flavors and authentic dishes that transported me straight to Thailand. The Pad Thai was perfectly balanced, and the Green Curry had just the right amount of spice.
The staff was warm and attentive, making sure everything was perfect. The ambiance was cozy and inviting.
I also appreciated how fresh the ingredients were and the generous portion sizes. I’ll definitely be coming back for more! Highly recommended!

The cashier was friendly and attentive when I walked in. The pad thai itself tasted average. Nothing really stood out as it felt generic. On the bright side, it was not too oily. They also use jumbo shrimp rather than the miniature ones most restaurants use. The location is nice as it sits between MU’s campus and downtown. Parking is a bit of a mess as you are better off using the Hitt Street Garage.
