Thai Emerald – Dhanmondi
I recently ordered a takeaway from Thai Emerald – Dhanmondi, and overall the experience was very good. The food was well-packed, warm, and tasted fresh when we opened it at home.
Sweet & Sour Fish: Flavorful sauce with fresh vegetables and tender fish.
Chicken Satay: Nicely grilled, soft, and well-seasoned.
Mixed Fried Rice: Light, aromatic, and a perfect match with the other dishes.
The packaging was neat and secure, making it convenient for takeaway. The total bill was Tk 2,614, which comfortably served 4 people, making it a good value for the quality and portion size.
Overall, we enjoyed the meal and will definitely consider ordering again!
First of all, dumpling was absolute trash. Very bland, Not juicy at al bland and the texture was like street food. The only thing we found good was the Cashew Chicken which I dropped below.
Overall do not recommend this place
The Sushi Boat: Ebi Meets Sake was scrumptious; you could tell that the salmon used was fresh—some of the best sushi I’ve had in a long time.
The seafood fried rice was wonderfully jorjhora, and the chicken green curry was creamy with a coconut base. The Fusion Boat captivated us with its above-and-beyond presentation, and the sauce coating the fish was sweet and sour. The prawn cutlet would be the only downside, as it was dry inside. The stir-fried spicy beef was well-cooked but slightly chewy; though that might be more about my personal preference, as I’m not a big beef eater.
Drinks like the Coconut Freeze and Splash were refreshing, pairing well with the mains, and had a natural taste without being overly sweet.
For dessert, the coconut ice cream had sticky rice at the bottom and peanuts for a little surprise; however, the caramel pudding was both silky and smooth.
Attentive staff checked in frequently, ensuring we were well taken care of ☺️. I have to appreciate the seamless fusion of Thai and Japanese cuisines—they truly make it work.
Would definitely go with my family again.
*Sorry for the not enough half-eaten-plate photos. Will add later.
Have a wonderful time with your best company.
Ciao!
Would likely avoid them, deep fried items and go for the dumplings.
I loved the cashew nut salad and the coconut milk soup it was so delicious.
We went there yesterday for an anniversary dinner. 9 persons in total. The place is quite spacious. Seating is decent. Has dimmed lighting which I love.
The food was not particularly amazing.
The grilled beef was chewy and hard. Not much flavor.
Chicken dish was mid. Fried rice was decent, the basil leave ones wasn’t so. The sushi boat was average. Not as high quality as you can get in those japanese restaurants. Drinks were typical.
The worst offender was the duck dish. It smelled of raw duck meat. I love myself some good duck dishes but this ain’t it. Pudding and ice cream was good.
Overall a very mid and unremarkable meal.
6.5/10. I did not pay today so no Idea how much all of them cost. But it should be 1000-1500 per person as a guess.
