Food was very tasty.
I very much liked the Summer Rolls – crispy, crunchy and a great sauce.
The Tom Yum Soup with Shrimp was just the right amount of spicy – I ordered 5 on a scale of 1 -10.
The Pad Thai with Chicken was on point. The lime squeezings, the ground peanut toppings, the wonderful noodles and tender white chicken. Mmmmmm, mmmm, mmm
Service was excellent even though I came during the dinner rush.
Overall a 5 star experience. My only deduct was atmosphere and there is nothing wrong with the decor – it is very nice, lots of warm blonde and light woods, but this place deserves a vestibule. The outside temp was 23° when I visited and every time a courteous person held the door for another a blast of cold air reached my table.
Bring your appetite and if it’s cold out bring long johns and leave your coat on or sit as far away from the door as possible. Still an excellent meal. Prayers and best wishes to the staff and owners.

One of my favorite restaurants. Can’t go wrong with anything you get here. Everyone is always friendly. The inside design is beautiful. Their red curry is my favorite. A beautiful combination of sweet, savory and spicy. This is also a random tidbit, but their chicken is really good. Usually when I eat out I never get chicken because it ends up tasting weird or dry etc. Thai-D is quite the opposite. Their chicken is always very soft and tastes great. The only restaurant in the world where I’ll order chicken instead of beef. And my friend who hates tofu is obsessed with Thai-D’s tofu. Truly a marvelous place! P.S. their Thai tea is to die for. 11/10 recommend trying it.

I’m honestly kind of embarrassed that I haven’t shared my experience on here.
Thai D is a fantastic place to eat. Food is great, service is friendly both consistent over the years. It’s always busy and the staff consistently exceeds expectations. The owners are always working alongside the staff, and it’s just great seeing that culture.
Oh! Try the fried chicken katsu, it’s a great addition to the protein choices!!!!

Got carry out. A variation of drunken noodles (pad kew mao iirc). Was absolutely delicious with fresh ingredients. The restaurant and restrooms were very clean. Atmosphere was quiet and relaxed. Very nice decor. Server who cashed out my check was wonderfully informative and friendly. She was able to recommend things to do in the area and helped when ordering so as to get the proper amount of spice when asked. I will definitely be back.

Ordered takeout from this restaurant. I was traveling from Peoria, IL. This place has great reviews. So ordered Pad Thai and Pad Se Ew. Absolutely worst. Both of them had no taste. The vegetables and mushrooms in Pad Se Ew were raw and undercooked. Both of them had spice sprinkled over it. So spice was not consistent. Pad Thai noodles were chewy. I got really bad stomach ache after eating Pad Se Ew. I normally don’t post reviews on Google but this one I had to since the restaurant is claiming as award winning authentic Thai restaurant.

The topic of which local thai place is the best is hotly debated in my department at SIU. My cohort decided to put them to the test, ordering the same 2 meals to go(chicken pad thai. And seafood green curry spicy level 6). We did a blind taste test and all 4 of us agreed that Thai-D was the best for both dishes. It was true to the requested spiciness (the others were way too mild for a 6/10) and the most flavorful overall.

The food is delicious, and the service is warm and pleasant, which makes the atmosphere truly inviting.
I know customers vary and that’s not the restaurant’s responsibility, but this place remains one of my top choices when I want to meet up with friends.
I hope they continue just like this, because nowadays, more than great food, we all seek good service and a judgment-free environment.

The food and the atmosphere were great here! I travel a lot, and eat Thai food constantly. What stood out here above the rest was there quality and quantity of veggies. They have an incredible variety and assortment of vegetables, and they are fresh! That is the one complaint I have with most Thai food, is the lack of imagination in the veggie department, as well as the stinginess of them at most Thai places. This place therefore, has been, I believe, the only Thai restaurant to not disappoint.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere! Everything was fresh and flavorful — the pineapple fried rice was especially delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant has such a warm, welcoming vibe. Definitely one of the best spots around for authentic Thai food!
