I recently visited Thai Coco in Coquitlam, and overall I had a really enjoyable experience. This place definitely delivers when it comes to bold Thai flavors, especially their curries, which were the highlight of the meal and the main reason I’d happily come back.
The red curry and green curry were both excellent. Rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, they had that perfect balance of spice and coconut milk without being overwhelming. You can really tell they put care into their curry base — it tasted authentic, comforting, and deeply satisfying. The portions were generous, and everything was served hot and fresh, making it ideal for a cozy sit-down meal. Paired with rice, the curries were easily the standout dishes of the night.
However, not everything hit the mark. The sticky chicken wings, unfortunately, were a letdown. They were far too sour for my taste, to the point where it completely overpowered any sweetness or savory flavor. The sauce tasted a little off and honestly came across as a bit nasty compared to the rest of the food. It was surprising, given how well the curries were done, and I’d probably skip this dish on a return visit.
The atmosphere at Thai Coco is casual and welcoming, and the service was friendly and efficient. Overall, despite the disappointing wings, the fantastic curries make this a solid 4-star spot for Thai food in Coquitlam. I’d definitely return for the red and green curries alone.

✨ Thai Coco – Coquitlam’s Hidden Gem!

I miss Thailand so much — and this cozy spot instantly brought me back to those family-style restaurants in Bangkok.

The homemade Thai sausage is juicy, aromatic, and tastes just like the ones from Saladaeng BTS street stalls.
The Pad Thai is saucy and flavorful, every noodle perfectly coated.
The Yellow Curry Chicken is rich and authentic.
Crispy chicken wings look and taste amazing — just a bit salty for me.

I wish they’d serve fresh coconuts someday to complete the full Thai experience!

Overall, this place is truly a hidden gem in Coquitlam — full of warmth, flavor, and Bangkok nostalgia.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great spot for Thai food! The dishes came out fresh and full of flavor. The pad thai had the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and savory, topped with plenty of crushed peanuts and lime. The coconut shrimp appetizer was golden and crunchy, paired with a tasty dipping sauce. Portions were generous, and everything tasted homemade. Service was quick and friendly, making the whole experience really enjoyable. Definitely a place I’d come back to when I’m craving Thai comfort food!

We ordered the green curry chicken (spicy), red curry shrimp (mild), and chicken pad Thai. The portions were generous, and while the curries weren’t as spicy as expected, they were packed with bold flavors and had a pleasantly sweet taste — really delicious. The Pad Thai was nicely chewy, topped with crushed peanuts and fresh lemon slices, and just as tasty. The restaurant itself is cozy, with a warm and friendly vibe. The owner served us personally and made us feel welcome. The background jazz and Latin music added a great touch to the atmosphere. There are plenty more dishes on the menu, and I’m definitely looking forward to trying more next time.

Thai Coco was very accommodating to help make our meal vegan. The waitress was friendly and understanding, and disclosed which dishes were changeable to exclude animal products. She brought out our food which had great presentation and flavour. Thank you for welcoming us and accommodating our diet, we will be back!

We went here for the first time and loved it! The food was amazing, we had the curry, lettuce wraps, pad Thai, and spring rolls, and everything tasted super fresh and full of flavor. The service was also great, super friendly and helpful.

Parking was easy, which is always a plus. The place is small and cozy, so it’s perfect for a relaxed meal, but maybe not ideal for big groups. Overall, a great spot! We’ll definitely be back!

Tried this “new to us” Thai place tonight. We were the only ones there but lots of takeout orders! Great selection and we loved everything. The coconut Thai tea was so good! Photos: drunken noodles, red curry, spicy tofu and lettuce wraps.

WOW!!! This place is an absolute gem! We wound up here since another Thai place nearby was closed for some reason (renovations maybe?). It looked promising since it was fairly busy on a Sunday night. This is hands down some of the best Thai food I have had outside of Thailand. Absolutely delicious. I noticed the sweet chili sauce for the spring rolls was extra tasty – they make it themselves!! If you’re looking for authentic Thai food, great service and an overall excellent dining experience this is the place for you!

I ordered the tom kha soup and chicken pad thai. The soup had mostly mushrooms and very little chicken, and the pad thai was quite bland. The green onions were left as whole stalks rather than chopped, making them a bit awkward to eat. Overall, the meal was just okay—nothing was bad, but it didn’t stand out.
