We got there just before 7:30 and didn’t have to wait for a table. Be warned… It’s an open air restaurant so, even with fans, the place is warm.
Service was fine.
We enjoyed our meal.
I ordered a cocktail, Tom Yum soup, and Pad Thai. The cocktail was tasty, though it didn’t feel very strong — not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. The Tom Yum soup was excellent: sweet, salty, sour, savory and the right level of spiciness, with lots of seafood. It was very flavorful and probably the highlight of my meal.
The Pad Thai came about 15 minutes later. I was craving noodles, and this was the only noodle dish available. It tasted fine, but it didn’t quite resemble a traditional Pad Thai. It was more like a regular stir-fried noodle dish and seemed to be missing the distinct tangy-sour notes from tamarind paste.
Service-wise, I had to wait a while to get the check and eventually went up to the counter to pay. The restaurant was completely packed, which I think speaks to its popularity.
Overall, the food quality was high, the flavors were enjoyable (especially the Tom Yum), and the atmosphere was lively.
2. The menu is confusing – the „food“page has only the vegetarian version of many dishes, and these dishes are usually NOT vegetarian in Thailand, e.g., green papaya salad; the “usual” Thai version of these dishes are on the “drink” page.
3. Waiting time 50min+ around 9pm.
4. Rather expensive even for this tourist area, for this price I expect at least some decent taste…
Overall a disappointed experience, definitely not recommended.
The four of us shared two green chicken curries and additional jasmine rice between us. The food tasted lovely at the time but unfortunately we all experienced food poisoning symptoms during early hours of the following morning. As this is the only meal we all shared during this day, it is highly likely this dinner was the cause.
We wanted to share this feedback so the restaurant can look into it and ensure food safety standards are maintained.
This restaurant also had a really large section of the menu with vegetarian options, which were just as great as the rest of the menu.
However, the service is abominably slow. It took over an hour for our food to be delivered.
I know these places are busy, but it was just soup and a fish curry… I’m pretty sure these things are mostly pre-prepared so there was no reason for such a delay.
First the good: Interesting menu and decor.
What could be improved? Everything else… Multiple people at the table tried different variations of copying and all were pretty but just tasted like alcohol, and the red wine was no better. Two drink orders were forgotten altogether. Food was very destroyed, there was an hour wait between the first and last meals at our table. When it finally came, it was just OK. We initially had planned on dessert, but decided to skip it and would not come back.
