My family and I were excited to try this Thai place as it was recommended by an influencer on Instagram. Unfortunately, it was a big miss. They were backed up with takeout orders, so our order took 30-40 minutes. The BBQ pork did not look like what it was pictured (see menu photo compared to what we got) and it didn’t taste like anything special—a bit dry even. The pad Thai was not bad, but the portion was small and not worth $22. The Yenta Fo was very salty that we quenched it down with water. They don’t have enough staff to even get their attention to refill our waters. The portion for the soup was also really little for $24. It didn’t have as much substance as what was pictured in the menu.

They gave us the BBQ pork for free because of the long wait. Otherwise, I would’ve gave this restaurant a 1 star.

It’s not that bad but it’s also not so good that you can’t wait to come back? Most of the foods were a bit salty but the usual tang, slight sweetness, spicy and refreshing taste of Thai cuisine is there. They do give you a free pop or ovaltine if you give them a 5 star review.

Tried out Thai Box Restaurant for a weekday dinner. It was freezing inside, even with a space heater nearby. Food came out slowly. No ask for spice levels. Debit or cash only.

– Coconut rice ($4.50)
– Vegetarian spring rolls ($11.98) – skippable
– Panang curry ($22.98) – best dish of the night. Curry was well balanced with a hint of heat
– Pad kee mao pork ($21.98) – serviceable
– Pineapple fried rice ($23.98) – good portion size but unmemorable
– Cashew chicken ($19.98) – standard. Wanted more cashews, way too much raw onions
– Hormok talay ($23.98) – seafood with a thicker curry sauce. Again, an abundance of raw onions

Stopping by for a quick lunch with a friend. The pad thai was pretty good in flavour and texture, but the cashew chicken was so so, too saucy. So we ordered another pad thai to-go half way eating. However, the takeout food was still not ready when we finished the meal and the waitress just kept stalling. We waited for another 15 minutes but we’re running out of time so eventually I asked for a refund. Later I realised they didn’t give me a full refund. Guessing they charged me for some kind of service fee or whatever. This is an unpleasant experience.

First time here. The stir fry noodle is too sweet for me. I like the flavor, but maybe is not my type. And the other dish is good, but the spice makes me cough. Maybe is caused by the green pepper. I caughed a lot lol. Good service, but my girlfriend told me it’s quite cold inside even they had turn on the heat fan. Hope you guys can get better!

Dined for dinner. Looks like family owned place. Small and nothing fancy. When I was there it is so hot no air conditioning on. They could have opened some windows.
Food is delicious but greasy. Staff are friendly. Service is fast. Overall not a bad place to try Thai in Richmond,BC area.

Food was terrible. Roti with curry came out, the roti was full of oil. Ordered a papaya salad, lettuce was old as well as other ingredients. Had the pineapple fried rice, the rice was undercooked and hard. I left without finishing the meal. I am very disappointed. I won’t be back.

Been here many times not just dine in, but also takeout.

One of the few quality authentic Thai food places on my personal favorite list in Richmond. Service staff very friendly and accommodating for our large group requests. The atmosphere could be better if they better ventilated with open windows or with air conditioning as it will alleviate some of the spicy food making you sweat. Alternatively, ordering a Thai Milk Tea helps a lot too.

If dining in, you would definitely need to order extra rice to pair with the entrees especially the curry dishes. However, if you cook a pot of rice at home and have the dishes for takeout, you will be satisfied with the meal at home too.

Thai Box continuously holds a 5 star review and makes me a happy returning patron.

Im giving this place a 5 because the food is good and portions are big.

The curry wasn’t sweet unlike a lot of other Thai places. It was well balanced.

The fried rice was also balanced, but the onion slices were gigantic and they used fresh rice instead of old refrigerated rice so it was a but soggy. But still pretty good.

The place itself look and felt pretty dirty, but if you’re the type that doesn’t mind it, I’d still recommend this place.
