My father and I have been loyal customers of Thai Bay Basil & Sushi Restaurant for the past six months, visiting once a month—and each experience is better than the last. While the exterior may be unassuming, stepping inside feels like entering a cultural wonderland. The vibrant décor, colorful ambiance, and deep respect for Thai traditions immediately transport you.
We both adore Thai food, and this restaurant delivers with authentic flavors that are hard to find. From sushi rolls to Thai stir-fried dishes, cold plates, and even low-carb menu options, everything we’ve tried has been outstanding. Their spring rolls are a must-try, and I’m especially fond of their Thai tea and fried eggplant—absolutely delicious!
What truly sets this place apart is the warmth of the staff. We’re always greeted with a cheerful “hello, honey” and a genuine smile from a server who feels more like family. The service is consistently exceptional, and the staff’s joy and hospitality make each visit feel like a celebration.
We make it a point to sit in different spots each time to enjoy the unique atmosphere throughout the restaurant. The attention to detail—from fish tanks to intricately designed plates—adds to the charm.
Thai Bay Basil & Sushi Restaurant has become more than a dining spot; it’s a place of comfort, joy, and connection for us. If you haven’t been yet, go—and be ready to fall in love with both the food and the people.

Amazing food ! The appetizer sampler was great, good sample of all the apps. Pad Thai was yummy + lunch combo box was wonderful as well. They went above and beyond to serve us and make sure we had everything before we thought of it. Will definitely be back.

This is a hidden gem .I called before we came to inquiry about their lunch specials to make sure they have vegan options . Our family was met with smiles that were genuine and warm. They made us veggie tempura even though it wasn’t on their menu. It was great portions sizes for all of our meals perfect amount of sauce ratio and really good amount of veggies . First time here and we will be back .hands down the best Thai restaurant I’ve been too in largo/clearwater .

It’s probably not fair as I just returned from a 5 month trip to asia. The tum yum soup tasted like it was flavored with lemons, not lemongrass. The black pepper, shrimp and vegetables was lifeless with no flavor. Good ingredients, just not good representations of thailand’s delicious spices.

A woman named L was my server. She was tentative, kind and welcomed me as soon as I walked in. She handed me the menu and explained the lunch specials. The sushi was delicious along with the pad Thai that I had. The fresh spring roll that they make was incredible. I got the bento box #8. Try this place out and ask for L. She was wonderful.

Restaurant located in a large older shopping mall, with a lot of parking space. Although the restaurant was empty during my visit, the noise level was really low, making for a peaceful and enjoyable dining experience.
The menu has an extensive selection of Thai dishes and sushi rolls to choose from, and the food was fresh and tasty. While some dishes could use a bit more flavor, the portion sizes were big and well worth the price of $15-20 on average.
The green curry could have used a bit more sauce, but overall, the presentation was average and the service was fast. The restaurant also boasts a lot of imported and domestic beer selections for those who are interested.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Thai Bay and Sushi Restaurant. While there are some areas for improvement, the food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. If you’re in the area and looking for a great Thai and sushi spot, Thai Bay and Sushi Restaurant is definitely worth checking out!

First time to this restaurant. Not impressed. The soup, traditionally very spicy and hot, was actually quite mild. The seafood in the soup was obviously not fresh. The spring rolls were very good, but no heat. Not authentic Thai food. Must be run by American-Thai owners.
