Big portions and an affordable menu attract patrons to this bare-bones spot for classic Thai eats.

Good service. Quick friendly staff.
Nice space inside the dim lights for dinner.
The food was great. Would come back and recommend. One of better options in Boston and this area. I’d say was not expecting it to be this good on newburry st.

Good Thai food, decent service but the dishes are made of plastic- not healthy if there are chemicals being released from the plastic due to the hot food.
Reasonable prices.

The chicken satay with peanut sauce and cucumber relish was excellent, and was hearty enough to serve as a meal for someone who isn’t hungry enough for a full entree.
The restaurant staff are kind enough to seat people close to closing time. They’ll ask you to place your order no later than 15 minutes before closing.

I visited Thai Basil based on a friend’s recommendation and it was a great choice! The food was really good. I tried the basil fried rice, calamari, and crab rangoon, and everything was delicious. My friends had the vegetarian options, they mentioned that it was good and their dishes definitely have a kick to them, so be ready for a little heat! The staff didn’t ask us for a specific spice level, but the menu does use icons to show how spicy things are, so keep an eye on that when ordering. Overall, a solid spot with fresh food!

Good food, good amount of vegan and vegetarian options, be ready to wait on a weekend to get a table. This place is usually pretty full and service is decent, not too slow and not too fast. We had the lychee boba and thai iced coffee(very delicious)- both were really good! Must try! For starters we had curry puffs which were delicious and the sause that came along with it was balancing the flavors well- it almost reminded us of samosa. For mains we got the green thai curry in tofu and the siam fried rice- both were very nice! Definitely recommend this place for good thai food right on Newbury street

So I’ve been going to this restaurant for years. It’s very close to the Copley branch of the library and so conveniently located and just a super reliable spot for lunch. Probably my default option when I’m looking for something near Copley.
Today I had the spicy tofu lunch special which came with some small pork dumplings (I could have had spring rolls instead). The flavor of my meal was spot on, just the way I like it. Tofu wasn’t great by themselves but the flavor was there. Dumplings were also just fine. From prior experience I would recommend the basil fried rice and they have this eggplant thing which I think is my favorite thing I’ve tried there. Also the fresh Basil rolls are also really good.
I will say, it’s extremely standard Thai food and I don’t think it cracks my top three Thai restaurants around boston, but it is tasty, reasonably priced, and great location. I’ve probably eaten there close to twenty times. For me it’s a comfort lunch at this point.

Unfortunately, we had a very similar experience to another customer review i saw. The food was okay, but the staff behavior completely ruined it. We were spoken to very rudely and asked to leave a larger tip, she literally circled it and said this isn’t enough and waited around for more!! There are definitely much better places to eat with respectful service.

I’ve been to this place quite frequently in the last few months at least 9-10 times, i always enjoyed the food and the service is usually good. My last experience unfortunately made it the last time i will be going there. After being seated it took almost 15 mins for anyone to take me and my friends order, after getting our dishes we had to ask multiple times for items (serving plates, a spoon??? and water) that usually would’ve come with the dish and service regardless. The staff seemed annoyed with me and my friend and they very clearly did not behave this way with other customers. We paid for our food and did not leave a tip because the service wasn’t good and we didn’t feel that it reflected a tip! When leaving we were stopped at our table and asked why we didn’t leave a tip and I bluntly explained that I didn’t feel they deserved the tip based on the service we received, which we were told we HAD to leave a service fee. We reluctantly left a tip and left. We will NOT be returning again and I would not recommend dining in again.

Great and calm atmosphere. Nice and friendly staff. I had a tom yum shrimp soup and it was pretty good, I liked that it was medium spicy. The salad was way to spicy I could barely eat it. The portions are good and prices are fair. Overall everything else was very good.

I would give zero stars if possible. The food might have been acceptable, but the experience was absolutely ruined by the owner’s behavior. From the moment we sat down, the service felt rushed and unpleasant. When it came time to pay, we were forced to leave a tip, and not just that, the owner demanded a higher tip in the most aggressive, unprofessional way imaginable. Instead of hospitality, we were met with rudeness, arrogance, and pressure tactics that left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.
There are many Thai restaurants that treat customers with respect and kindness. This is not one of them. Save yourself the disappointment and avoid this place.
