Went to Thain Angel after our last final exam with a couple of friends. It was suggested by one of our friends and the timing couldn’t have been better! I ordered pad thai medium spice and Mango Sweet rice for dessert. The pad thai was delicious and perfectly balanced. The sweet rice and mango were also good but might try other dessert options next time. My friends ordered Iced Thai tea and really liked it and as well as the rest of the group. The staff was kind and attentive. The place was clean and well kept. The only thing we collectively noticed was the amount of protein or meat on the pad thai, compared to other places they had little amount of meat in their dish. However, ill be going there again and try the rest of the menu.

My wife and my first Thai dinner. Our server answered all of our questions and the food was great! My wife had the Roadt Pork and Pineapple fried rice which was great and I had the Pad Thai with Chicken and Shrimp. Very fresh… much better than any Chinese we’ve had lately. Will definitely go back soon. Highly recommend. I saw some posts about the menu missing some authentic Thai stuff but being a newbie that didn’t bother us at all.

Great Thai! The menu lacks a full Thai cuisine, squid, mussels, yum tai lay… noticeably absent. But what is on the menu is done well! Cafe style, simple, and delicious. Strong recommendation.

The tom yum soup was below average and didn’t have the typical rich texture and red curry. The broth was almost clear and mushrooms seemed like they weren’t sauteed or cooked otherwise. The entree plate was average in quality and only had five medium size shrimp. I wasn’t impressed by the food at all. The service was fairly quick though. The dining area is small.

I fix Thai food on a regular basis. The food was absolutely delicious!. The fried spring rolls so tasty. We ordered the Kapow. Would highly recommend this dish.

Delicious food and great service! Beef drunken noodles level 3 heat was just what I needed to change from the usual food in the area. My wife also really enjoyed the pad Thai shrimp level 3 heat. Best authentic Thai food we’ve found in New Bern!

After reading the reviews, had to give it a try. Not impressed. I asked for a level 4 (out of 5) red curry with beef. The beef was tough. Despite being warned that my desired spice level was “very spicy, hot,” I was completely underwhelmed. I’ve gotten more heat from Taco Bell Diablo sauce. The over riding flavor was sugar. This is not the top Thai place in New Bern, I wouldn’t even rate it in the top two.

We ordered some of our favorite Thai dishes to see how the local version compared and everything was spot on. Soups were great. We had Tom Kha Gai and Tom Yum as well as a beef salad. Swimming Rama and Drunken Noodles were the main dishes. You can order mild, medium or hot spice levels so you get the spicy level you are comfortable with. We also ordered the sticky rice with mango for dessert it did not disappoint. We enjoyed everything at Thai Angel and would return when in town again.

Delicious food and excellent service. It’s not very spicy, so if you like spice at all you probably want to ask for 3/3.
Curry is excellent, as is the papaya salad.

One of my absolute favorite places to go in New Bern, and my all time favorite Thai restaurant out of everywhere I’ve been.
My go-to is always Pad Thai but I’ve heard and seen that the other dishes are equally wonderful. The interior is simply and beautifully decorated, very clean, not cluttered.
Service is friendly and quick. The location is perfect for a nice walk afterwards. Couldn’t recommend more!
