Love Thai 72 NYC! Such a great spot for friends gathering or after work drinks. The vibes are so good, and the food was amazing — the fried crab rice was packed with flavor, the lamb chop was perfectly cooked, and the duck was on another level. Definitely coming back!

I’m rarely in the UES but we ended up by this area and we were so hungry so we walked in. Came with 2 people on a rainy Monday night. We were seated right away by the couch table. Food was solid, tasty and it was fresh. I had the drunken chicken 10/10. My friend had pineapple rice which was good and tasty. My boyfriend had veggies with chicken and cashew very tasty and juicy. Overall, food was really good. Service on the contrary felt odd and dismissive like if they didn’t want to be there. The ambiance was relaxing and intimate which I really liked. We really loved the food and we want to go back. hopefully next time we will have a better experience. Hands down for the food! Amazing

The food here is pretty good and flavourful. The ambiance is very relaxing and welcoming which makes for an even better experience. I had the pom-tini (I think thats what it’s called), chicken pineapple fried rice with the chicken and shrimp dumpling. Lastly, I would give it 5 starts but, I was semi rushed into leaving. I came around 3:30pm on a Fhursday with nobody but myself in the restaurant. You would think the customer service would be better but I guess not.

Flavorful and aromatic. You can taste the freshness of every ingredient, and the balance of savory, sour, and spice is spot-on. Light, comforting, and deeply satisfying. Easily one of the best red curry and drinks I’ve had.

We tried Thai72 for the first time this week and had a nice meal. They had a cozy atmosphere, with Christmas decor all around.
My boyfriend ordered the one of the curries ($18+ for Tofu or Vegetables) and I had the Healthy Soup ($10+ for Small) + Roti Canal ($16+).
The Roti Canal felt a bit pricey considering the size / amount, but I loved it and would order it again.
The Healthy Soup was also exactly what I wanted with plenty of vegetables, although it too, was a bit pricey for what it was. They could make the small one a bit smaller and less pricey. (The large is $15+)
The service was fine and it was a decent meal overall. I’m happy to add Thai72 to my restaurant repertoire in UWS.

My two favorite things! Thai food and a good lamb chop!
The menu a here is amazing but this one dish really stood out! Thai style lamb chops — Served with lamb jus, Thai basil leaves, chili peppers and a side of mashed potatoes! A perfect concept!
Make this spot the next Thai restaurant to add to your list

Lovely thai spot on the upper west. We got the pad see ew, drunken noodles and tom kha soup. Everything was delicious and the perfect amount of spiciness without going overboard. Highly recommend!

Romantic, cute, warm, nice ambience, nice staff, good food. Nice drinks. Gender neutral bathrooms. Easy to remember where it is bc it’s on 72nd street and Broadway avenue. Very small bowl of jasmine rice so we had to order an extra bowl which is $3. The food is good but just a bit salty. This is as of 8/11/2025.
