Reviews
– Cheeseburger – $10 (Meal Deals on the back of the menu): Amazing!
The burger patty is probably the best I’ve had in a while. It was good quality. I ordered it medium and got it medium which doesn’t happen at other restaurants very often. It melts in your mouth! OH SO GOOD! It was juicy, soft, tender, and seasoned perfectly with light salt and pepper.
The rest was a bit off. It looked like someone else finished it, it was thrown together (unlike the patty). The bun and toppings were all slid to the side and thrown on. I had to reassemble it, especially the shredded lettuce which had completely escaped. The onions were VERY potent, which is what I like, but you judge for yourself. The bun was VERY sweet and soft, but falling apart a bit. It stayed together enough to eat, though.
It comes with Seasoned Fries and fountain drink.
The price was a steal compared with the other burgers. Check out the Meal Deals separate from the burgers for the best prices. They also have bar specials on smaller appetizer portions that are cheaper, too.
– Seasoned Fries – $4.19 (basket): My kids shared a ”basket” between them, though it was actually a pan. The pan kept them warm, so that is a win with fries (which by nature get cold fast).
The name suggested they’d be richly seasoned, but it wasn’t overly seasoned at all. They are medium cut fries, mainly standard in every way except a medium pazazz of a seasoning that had a tiny kick, but very excitingly enjoyable.
My daughter complained she had a few that were overly seasoned and the rest fine, but mine were mainly the same throughout and consistent.
– Service: Mainly attentive and kind. We were seated almost immediately and served quickly. The food did not take long to arrive at all. Utensils, napkins, and my Coke were missed, but after correcting this, they brought Cokes for the kids on the house without being asked. Very cool!
– Atmosphere: Eclectic atmosphere with old memorabilia. The booths we sat at were in great shape, comfortable, and plenty of room for our party of three. I don’t remember hearing any music playing.
– Conclusion: I would highly recommend this place! They’ve been around a while and still have it together.
Visited Saturday at 8pm
I sat up at the bar to make it more convenient since the bar tender was waiting tables also.
Service was prompt and the food order came out quickly also.
As far as the bathroom. The stall I went into had no toilet paper. Which, made it very inconvenient!
The server was amazing, polite, and courteous friendly and went out of his way to make sure my friends and I were happy.
When we arrived, we noticed the parking lot was almost empty, which we were excited about, being it was a Friday night.
When we entered the building we stood in the lobby with no hostess, no waiter/waitress acknowledging us for over 10 minutes, there was no one else in the lobby either. There was no hostess even at the stand.
After finally getting seated, in the wide open restaurant, we ordered our food. My wife got the whiskey BBQ burger. I got the grilled chicken with BBQ sauce, street corn, and loaded mashed potatoes.
When my wife got her burger there was just a super small splash of sauce, the burger was luke warm, and the fries were cold. When I got my food, the chicken was cold, the potatoes were like paste, and the street corn(not street corn) was absolutely disgusting (and I know and love street corn).
We were also very disappointed with our service, for only having two tables in a section, we would have thought that maybe our server would have seen empty cups while waiting, or even came and explained why our food was taking so long, etc.
We now know why this place was empty, it has gone way downhill from when we were younger adults. We won’t be going back.
Very clean, nice atmosphere. Did not feel rushed.
